Great Compact Canister, Works Well for Stairs, Furniture, and Bare Floors, November 18, 2007
This review is from: Bosch Vacuum Cleaner BSA2100UC Compact Plus (Electronics)
The Bosch 2100UC is a very nice compact canister. The machine has a tremendous amount of suction for a small compact canister. It is very lightweight, only 9.5lbs. and like most German vacuums, it is very quiet. This German made vacuum is designed for bare floors, stairs, and quick easy pick ups. It has a variable speed motor control that allows cleaning of delicates like curtains and drapes. The variable speed motor will also allow to clean oriental rugs, without the stradling, and fighting with the rug.
Filtration wise, the Bosch 2100UC comes with a micro scan filter that stops all of the mircoscopic dust particles that cause allergy suffers, and asthmatics to have problems breathing. HEPA filtration is available as an upgrade. The Bosch genuine type G bag is an excellent quality bag, that is above average in keeping the dust inside the bag, instead of going through the motor, which Bosch provides a 5 year warranty on.
The negatives to this machine are; The 2100UC only comes with a combination tool, which doesn't do well at all on wall to wall carpeting. It is really only designed to clean bare floors, or just a few oriental rugs, with no pet hair. The cord is rather short at only 17 feet, causing you to have to switch outlets for larger areas. The vacuum only comes with a crevice tool, and upholstery brush, with no dusting brush.

It's compact but where's the plus?, August 27, 2008
This review is from: Bosch Vacuum Cleaner BSA2100UC Compact Plus (Electronics)
I'm disappointed with this vacuum and will be returning it. I bought it to do bare floors, under furniture, and places that I can't reach with an upright. It doesn't pick up the layer of dust that covers my hardwood floors. It doesn't seem powerful enough to remove dust from my oriental carpets. The upholstery/crevice tool has no brush and must be held at a certain angle to produce the suction which can be aggravating. The floor tool also has to be at a certain angle to provide the proper suction which can be difficult when trying to clean under the sofa and other furniture. I can't find a dusting brush to fit the wand and I really wanted a small lightweight compact to dust things with. Oh well, you'd probably have to hold that at the exact right angle also. It is lightweight and quiet but who cares if you can't really clean with it. Also, I haven't measured the cord but it sure doesn't seem like it's coming out 17 ft, maybe it's stuck.
