This amplifier works fine and does exactly what it says it will do. THe one problem is that the description doesn't tell you that you HAVE TO have a remote control (Purchased Seperately) to make this unit work. This may depend on which system you have, my parents have older one. So you may have to tack on another $80 or so to the price if you want the unit to function.

This stereo amplifier works with Bose Lifestyle systems and either standard external speakers or Bose speakers to expand your system into an additional room in your home. The way it worked for me is I was able to connect an existing whole-house speaker system into the Bose Lifestyle system so that I could enjoy TV using either the speakers that came with the Bose system, and/or I could switch the sound to my external speakers and listen to TV, DVD, or my docked iPod through the entire house. Just remember you MUST use a dedicated Lifestyle expansion remote control (sold separately). This amplifier is fairly small, but due to the internal electrical components, it does have some weight. The 8 pound unit can just sit on the floor or a shelf. The important point is you can hook ANY normal speakers to a set of speaker jacks on the back of the unit.

This is the second amp and speaker set that I have added to our new house. So far everything is working great and sounds really good.
