Expensive - but then it's a Bose and worth every penny
When running the SoundDock in battery mode at a party-level (2-4 below max) of volume you get around 3-5hrs of playback. At lower levels you can go 8+ When you're out without a plugin location and want to have a good party with great music a backup battery is essential. This fills the bill!

This Product Is NOT Compatible with SoundLink
I really cannot speak to this product's efficacy beyond the fact that IT IS NOT FOR USE WITH BOSE SOUNDLINK. It is incompatible with SoundLink Wireless systems. It is difficult to blame Amazon since Bose, itself, states that it works with SoundLink Wireless systems (in addition to SoundDock systems) on the packaging. Whoops. Who pays for the return shipping - Bose or...

I have a portable Bose SoundDock for my iPod. I take it to parties, picnics and many other places where we enjoy music. I bought another battery so that we don't run out of music where ever we take it. The second battery really came in handy when we had the major blackout, here in southern California, this month. I love my music, which means I really love the extra battery. Now I know to keep both batteries charged, just in case. The battery is very easy to replace on the SoundDock and it lasts approximately eight hours. I am very glad I bought it. For me the price was worth it!
