Pro's: lightweight, comfortable, great sound, fold up into compact carrying case, Bose build quality.

Con's: built in microphone does not deliver crisp sound to the other party you are speaking too -- sounds distant and has a subtle echo.

I've compared these to Sony and Sennheiser and went with Bose. These are great sounding headphones. Awesome bass without sounding muddy. Good mids and highs. I love how comfortable it is and feels like pillows on my ears. Although, your ears may get hot and sweaty in the hotter months. The build quality looks pretty good but I guess I'll have to wait and see. There is no click button on the mic or cord to take phone calls which may be inconvenient.

These headphones are really comfortable. Sound quality is very good as well, all though they are pretty base heavy. I have used them on a coast to coast flight, as well as a bus on the freeway daily. Although they don't have active noise cancellation, the memory foam muffles the outside noise to a low roar. I was able to enjoy audio books, music and the airline movie with these headphones. I would buy them again.

I have had these for over a year and they are the BEST!! Not only do I use them with my cell phone, I use them to listen to music/shows/youtube - whatever on my HP Computer and the sound is equally FANTASTIC!! Worth the [...] bucks for the value!

Just impresive sound quality sound..!! The perfect headset fot my iPhone 3G... Light weight and extremely confortable.... I Just gave it 4 stars because the shape it takes when I use it in its maximun size... it seems to be a circle around my head, and i don't like it so much.. that's all.. but the most important thing, the sound, is excelent, deserves the price.

This are not the cheapest headphones I've used but they're worth every penny. The sound is amazing and the product quality is the best.

Wow, I have to say I absolutely love these headphones. I had tried the Dr. Dre Beats, and they're great, but they actually sounded better with some songs more than others, but these headphones sound awesome with everything (oh and no batteries required is a plus as well). These are my first Bose buy and I'm sure it won't be my last.

*after even more use of both, I now think that they are BOTH great, and the Bose do not necessarily "Beat" the Beats, but they are both different in the aspects in which they enhance the listening experience; if someone were to come up with headphones that entail qualities of both, those would be the ultimate headphones. I hear things clearer with both, but the enhancement of Bose seem to be clearer/smoother bass, whereas the Beats are simply Clearer sound, bringing out things you dont normally hear with simpler/cheaper headphones. Bose are superior sound with the bass being so so very smooth, which simply comes out more than the "hidden sounds", but they do bring out a better listening experience overall.

Short & Sweet:

Pros- Very comfortable (for on ear headphones, not being over ear), AMAZING bass, great sound quality, compact folding design, remote/mic, and comes with carrying case

Cons- Just a tad too overpowering bass in my opinion, but I prefer too much than too little bass. Remote doesn't come with volume controls, which I'm a little upset about, but not the end of the world. Also, having them for only a couple of hours, they seem a tad flimsy, and have the potential to break (on the earcups or headband) if you're not careful with them. Remember, the case is there for a reason!

Final Verdict: GREAT sounding headphones. Build quality is decent, but it's compact so great for taking places. The remote makes a big difference, as I will be using them for Skype calling on my iPod quite a bit. Also love how it blocks noise out when people are talking, such as mother calling when she needs something ;)


Long & Detailed Review:

Having previously owned Beats by Dre headphones, which were very good sound quality, I can say that these Bose for $180 are better than the Studios for $300! They have great sound quality, by far more thumping bass than even the Solo HD's (supposedly having the greatest Bass of all). I am ecstatic for the price I paid, as they save me tons more than i paid for the Studios, yet they're slimmer/smaller and in my opinion, better sound quality. They have no active noise cancellation, but let me tell you if you're playing music at even a comfortable level you cannot hear someone screaming from 5 feet away. What I also love is how these headphones, like the Beats, are extremely filling, meaning that it almost seems like I'm getting surround sound in the headphones, as if I'm hearing it from all directions.
However, having said the good, there are things that I do not like about these headphones as well. The build quality is a little flimsy, and seems like the earcups might come off after a few good years of use. Also, compared to the beats, the cable is thin and yucky like many other headphones. I personally prefer the thicker cable because it is tangle-proof, but it's not a big deal in my opinion. Also, I do not understand why no manufacturers (specifically Bose and Monster) put volume controls on the remote! It's such a simple thing that makes a reasonable difference, but better some remote than no remote I guess.
All in all, I wish I could give it a 4 1/2 star, because they're great headphones, but very few products are just about perfect, which is my true definition of a 5 star product. Being great headphones, I really wish Bose would look at this review and act on the flaws I think they have. If I had these headphones with a thicker, tangle-proof cable, with a remote that had volume controls, and a bit more sturdy of a design, I'd probably give them 5 stars.
Don't just take my word for it, take the world's. There are audiophiles that say Bose are overpriced, but I think they're wrong. People equate the Sennheiser HD 595 ($150) with the Beats by Dre Studios ($260-$300) in terms of sound quality. But I believe that these Bose headphones (usually $160 WITH folding design and a case, which the Sennheisers do not) actually sound on par with the Studios as well, give or take a little more clarity. So I have not heard Sennheisers, but just by using the internet's opinion, I'd think you're paying maybe $10 or $20 more for the Bose, which mainly accounts for a portable design, case, and of course a little brand name. So if you're looking for good, PORTABLE headphones especially, that still stand up to Sennheisers priced around the same area, get them. I promise you won't be disappointed (as long as you're no super precise audiophile).
