What a rip off. I went to the local Bose store and they gave these to me for free. $4.99 a piece, WOW!

These worked perfectly with my Bose LifeStyle speakers, as I expected. The terminals at the "bare wire" end are well made but intended for somewhat modest speaker wire [they claim 14 gauge]. In my case, I needed to fit the "prewired into the house" stuff into my Bose speakers. The existing stuff was lamp cord. I just braided off about half of the thickness of each connection, clipped the frayed strands of copper carefully to be neat and not short out against the other wire, and made the connections. Sounds just fine. I would recommend using the Bose Speaker Wire Adapter Kit for Lifestyle & Acoustimass Systems (36743)for the wall-to-box connections as it cleaned up my connections nicely, but your mileage may vary. I am using the front and rear center channel wires to connect a second room's left and right channel in this prewired house. A label-making machine or tape and a ballpoint pen might help you keep it all straight, and I made good use of a battery and flashlight bulb to test which wire was really which.

A great product. You won't be able to use Jewel Cube Speakers with pre-wired surround unless you purchase these.
