This attachment for the Acoustic Wave is well built and performs well. It provides 2 RCA inputs that you can use to hook up additional sources--I have an iPod dock and my HDTV connected to the AWII. If you still play music from CDs, then this is a great addition to your setup, since you can play a total of 6 discs (one in the main unit, and 5 in the changer). But if you have moved on to digital media, this is a nice addition but probably not justifiable--especially with the price tag. But for what it is, I love the sleek design and build; and since it sits directly under the main unit, there is almost no addtional footprint to the setup. The CD changes are smooth; however, it is a mechanical system by nature, so there will be audible "whirring" whenever the tray loads and unloads. Everything can be controlled from a single remote, which makes it easy to manage.

First full disclosure... I was given the cd changer as a bonus when I purchased my Wave II system, otherwise I would not have it in my home.

Don't get me wrong.. there is nothing wrong with it.. but is just isn't worth the cost when you consider all things .

unless you have wave II system it is useless and cannot be used, it doesn't even come with a power cord.. so that ought to give you some idea that it is not a stand alone system.

What I do find useful is the aux input which enables me to attach my Ipod and TV so that the listening experience is enhanced.

Ironically, if you have an Ipod the 5 CD changer never gets used, but if don't have the changer you can't listen to the Ipod...

So someone at Bose is wise to not have included aux inputs on the wave II it self....wise for Bose , not for the consumer...

Frankly overall,... no ones ears are so go as to justify a $1100 for the wave II plus another $300 for the CD change.. but if you have the money to toss well then why not.... at least some people are impressed by the name even if they don't know anything about quality audio systems.....

Yes the CD - Exchanger is great. I don't own one but have heard them play. they give out pronominal sound. and you have to have the original radio/CD equipment which I do have. in the first place to be able to play it. For it's size it puts out great quality music, I like the base sound that it has to it. Would recommend this Product to anyone thinking of buying it. It takes up so very little space as well.
