Easy to use

Unify technology also simplifies programming your Bose remote to control your Lifestyle system and most anything attached to it. During set up, the Unify system identifies each connected component, and automatically teaches the Bose remote to control it. Have used it for several weeks now and I am quite impressed.
Size and elegance are a huge factor. To get the loudness and intensity of the sound it produces one would have to stack up several large speakers ( of other brands). You can literally hide the speakers and yet be immersed in sound from all sides.

Easy to program and use as it serves as a well-functioning 'receiver' as well. My 535 has my Roku, blu-ray player, I-pod and wireless transmitter for my projector (Epson 5030 UBe) connected to it...with ports to spare to connect my computer if I want to.

Of note and a minor disappointement was that despite spending $3.5K (bought it when it first came out) I still had to buy a separate
connector/pod for my I-pod...one would think that for that price it would come included (makes the brand look desperate to squeeze money out of customers)

The audio-calibration feature is pretty cool and programs the system to 'sense', calibrate and adjust the output to suit the size/acoustics of the room. If you move it to a different room...it just takes less than 5 minutes to re-calibrate the system to optimize the sound. (Home theater/ISF techs use specialized equipment for this I am told--which comes built into the 535.

The sound of course is as it should be--its a treat to listen to anything play through it...music plays beautifully and the for movies--like being in a movie theater.
I particularly like to see live music videos/dvd/blu-rays on my 114" projector- screen and the complementary trinity of a high-end screen + projector + surround sound from my 535 has left many a vistor saying it is almost as good as having the best seats in a concert !!! (especially if the music blu-ray is re-masterd for 5.

I've had this system for about a week now and I'm really, really enjoying it! I'm starting to believe Bose is really the King of Sound Engineering. If you're looking for an unobtrusive system that has audiophile quality sound I would highly recommend this system.

I consider myself a sound nerd and I enjoy listening to and comparing any and all sound systems available on the market today. I've owned a Cerwin Vega system with LS-12's, Energy Take Classic 5.1 system, and my most recent system is a Definitive Technology system consisting of 3 Mythos Eights for L,C,R channels, two Gem XL's for surrounds and TWO Supercube II subwoofers. At this time I've already taken down my Def Tech set and replaced them with this one! When I first hooked up the Bose system I left my Def Techs up on the walls and set the Jewel Cube Speakers on my entertainment center and found a reasonable place to temporarily place the surrounds for testing. My initial reaction upon my first listen was they sound very similar if not crisper and wider sound dispersion than my mythos eights! The wider dispersion is likely achieved with Bose's direct/reflecting technology. During a lot of songs I would have had a hard time deciding which speaker was playing and the Jewel Cubes had the inferior placement on my Entertainment center. I'd be able to tell off axis easier because the jewel's sound terrific quite a bit off axis where the Mythos would loose sound quality. The whole room becomes a big sweet spot with the Bose. The only other way you'd get the nice wide dispersion with other speakers would likely be with bipolar speakers which have rear firing drivers that reflect off the back walls.

The Jewel Cubes seem to produce such an amazing clarity on a wide variety of tones that just cannot be matched.

I already had a surround sound system that I was happy with, had no plans on upgrading. I happen to be shopping and wondered into the local Bose store to look around. They were demoing this system and every single person in the store stopped what they were doing to listen to it... Including myself. The sound was just amazing.
I thought about it for a few days and did some shopping on amazon. I originally planned on getting the 525 series, but figured I'd go back to the Bose store and have them demo both for me to hear the difference, if any existed.
Rep at the Bose store played a song on both the 525 and 535, same volume and going in between both systems simultaneously.. And you could hear the difference. Both sound amazing but the 535 was definitely more immersive.
Listening to the system as I write this review and it is absolutely amazing... Big thanks and shout out to Audio Video Sales Guy who I purchased the system from.. At 600 less than what was being asked by either the Bose store or amazon (2,699.99 compared to 3,299.99). Highly recommend them to buy from.. Package came exactly like they said, new.. And the free shipping still arrived in 3 days.
Only gripe I have is for the price, the system should come with a Bluetooth setup for music devices.. Easily remedied with a 30 dollar music player that hooks up to the Bose system with ease.. But still...

I have this system installed in my home theater. Setup is a breeze! Wonderfully spacious three dimensional sound --- you'll find yourself ducking for cover during battle scenes when the bullets magically whiz over your head. System runs very cool so no problem keeping it in a media closet. Highly customizable. It does not process a 4K video signal so it will become outdated unless Bose can figure out some kind of firmware patch. For straight-up music listening it is a mediocre system. Tiny 3" cubes cannot reproduce the rich midtones that make music sound lush and real. But for a home theater setup this compact powerhouse is a great audio solution.
