I have owned the Bose VCS10 Center Channel for the past 3 years and have learned to live with it's sonic peculiarities and enjoy it's more positive aspects. I am one who finds the VCS10 actually better for listening to music than movie dialogue. I had 2 generations Bose 301's as front speakers (Series V) and surrounds (Series IV) respectively and was interested in maintain the "natural sound" characteristics for which Bose is well known. I must say that the VCS10 is lacking in lower range bass but not to a point of exceptional distraction. I do like the lack of piercing highs which the 2.5" drivers shy away from producing.
I also approve of the VCS10's styling and low profile on top on my CRT television set.

Aesthetically pleasing
No piercing high notes
Does not draw undue attention to itself

Weaknesses:
Power Hungery Drivers
Often Muffled Dialog in Home Theater Mode
Hard to balance with rest of home theater speakers
Could use more bass!!!
Mid bass sounds "punchy" and at times and distorted when used for home theater music passages, eg. Titanic 1997 Irish Music by Galiec Storm in DTS 6.1

My new speaker looks nice and sleek on top of my TV, and of course, it produces excellent sound. I am able to hear more conversations without having to turn up the TV.

The center speaker was a great improvement over having just 2 speakers at each side. It is great for mid tones.

After getting the settings right from my audio receiver, I'm very impressed! There were times I would watch a program and the dialog coming from the actors was hard to hear above all the other ambient noises coming from the setting, or the music just didn't sound right because I couldn't quite hear the full instrumentation or the singers voices were being drowned out. The Bose VCS-10 Center Channel Speaker enhances those diluted dialogs from your favorite television shows and provdes a crisp audio definition to any instrumentation or vocals that may have been missing from your current home theater package. I highly recommend it!

I just just got it about a week ago and what a difference it has made. I can finally hear the voice in movies!! There is such clarity and and presence. The music has come into the room. This completes a True Bose setup. I am very happy!

This Bose center speaker complimented my Bose book shelf speakers to my home theater sound system. Sound quality is excellent and full. No complaints here.

Not a bad speaker bought this for my TV The LCD wide screen I have has a great picture but sound quality isnt so good. I have owned Bose before and they do make a fine speaker but there prices arent the best.

What do you expect from Bose? They only make great products! This was a Christmas gift to my in-laws. They love how perfectly it fit in front of their TV and you can't even tell if there is something sitting there. The sound is BOSE. Enough said!
