4.0 out of 5 stars Pricey but pretty good
This product is so darn comfortable. Way more comfortable than traditional-style earbuds. I was looking for a set of earbuds to replace my defective V-Moda earbuds w/mic. This aforementioned set needed to have excellent sound quality as well as a mic for phone calls. I looked into many brands and I decided to go Bose after reading reviews. What I do like about the...

1.0 out of 5 stars Arguably the worst-fitting mobile in-ear headset sold today - TERRIBLE
What does it matter how great they sound if you can't get them to stay in your ears? These are absolutely the worst fitting ear buds I have ever tried in my life. They were expensive, but I don't mind paying for a good solid set of ear buds with an inline mic. My V-Moda Vibe Duo headset ear buds from Costco were $99 and fit wonderfully. They're much less expensive here on...

4.0 out of 5 stars Pricey but pretty good, May 27, 2010

This product is so darn comfortable. Way more comfortable than traditional-style earbuds. I was looking for a set of earbuds to replace my defective V-Moda earbuds w/mic. This aforementioned set needed to have excellent sound quality as well as a mic for phone calls. I looked into many brands and I decided to go Bose after reading reviews. What I do like about the Bose package is this: The comfort factor is perfect. Some positive remarks for this set is it has well-made construction(cable wires feel nice and thick), the carrying case is wonderful to hold the set and even big enough to fit both the set and the iphone, the extra silicone ear tips proved useful, and the headphone jack looks of higher quality (gold plated) than standard headphone jacks. Call voice clarity is very good on both ends of the call and the call/end, music play/pause button works well. The bad: Does not have volume up/down or music track forward/reverse remote in-line control. It doesn't create an air tight seal with the opening of your ear. This draw-back hinders bass from hitting deep and hard. They sit in the bowl of your ear before the canal and have a tiny neck that protrudes and sit in the hole of your ear. (My V-Moda's hit bass really good but...didn't last long) Cable wires can get tangled if you're careless and just shove them in your pocket. Also the mic needs to be positioned well to work properly. Overall, if your main concern in buying these is good music clarity with phone call capabilities...go for it. If you expect audiophile level performance in music(these aren't Grado's) than invest in a more sealed type of earbud set, otherwise go for a full over the head/ear headphone set like some Grado's or Beyerdynamics. BTW this set sounds awesome with a headphone amp like the Pa2v2 from eletric-avenue or the Fiio E5/E1. The call capabilities WILL NOT work with this set if not plugged directly into the phone. I hope this review helps tip the scales in your decision, good luck!

I was tired of not getting enough bass in my in-ears and tried the Bose. When using them with a 6 band or higher equalizer they're fine; you can roll off enough bass to make them sound spectacular. The problem is with my iPhone-with only "Bass Reducer" to choose from, the phones are still really muddy and not accurate at all. If Apple ever fixes the iPhone to allow developers to market band EQ apps, these will rock. Very comfortable. But with the limited EQ capabilities of the iPhone at present, these Bose are not the answer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bose mobile in-ear headset 3G iPhone, November 17, 2011
This review is from: Bose mobile in-ear headset Phone and Music Compatible Headset (Electronics)
If there's anyone who still has an iPhone 3G ( like I do ) then here's a tip for helping this headset mic and pause/play button to work. File the tip of the plug down a bit. Lets the plug go in a bit farther so the third ring contacts the appropriate spot. Did the same thing with a recent $20 pair of headphones with similar function. And it work great!
Try it out if you wish to. I know they're a bit expensive! Oh yeah, not for the active person!

I'm very satisfied with this item. The tone quality is great! Especially the mega bass, it's powerful. Also the headset's microphone can be used in different kinds cell phone, not just iPhone.

I purchased Bose Mobile In-ear Headset for my wife's birthday , which was on November 2. Just so happens the pair she was using, which was manufactured by an other company, broke while working out at the health club. This happened prior to her opening her birthday presents. One of which was the Bose headset.Talk about perfect timing, I was an instant hero.To make a long story short, she's still raving about the wonderful sound and just love how In-ear buds stays in place during exercising. She did have to change to the smaller buds ,which was include within the kit.Would highly recommend the purchase of the Bose In-ear headset.

1.0 out of 5 stars Arguably the worst-fitting mobile in-ear headset sold today - TERRIBLE, July 13, 2010
This review is from: Bose mobile in-ear headset Phone and Music Compatible Headset (Electronics)
They're much less expensive here on Amazon. The V-modas sound amazing as well - but when I misplaced them, I bought this Bose headset. What an epic mistake! I wish I could take them back.

They come with a wonderful pleather zipper case that is ginormous, and a small ziplock baggy containing an extra clip and 3 sizes of tips (S, M and L) so you can find the "perfect" size for your ear (like pretty much every in-ear buds out there, even the $10 ones). The problem is, nobody has ears shaped like these ridiculous tips. The supplied tips are a weird shape, not the typical root-beer barrel shape you find on most in-ear buds. And they're not ear specific. They're interchangeable. Anyone who has looked at an ear before knows that both ears are differently shaped. A barrel shaped ear bud makes sense if you're going to make them interchangeable, because it fits into your ear canal. But these Bose buds... man oh man what were they smoking when they came up with this design? Someone at Bose should be fired to spare further Bose fan lemmings from wasting their hard-earned, under-valued dollars on these veritable pieces of trash.

I even contacted a local hearing aid shop in my area that will make custom-fit hearing aids for people to see if they can create a pair of custom-fitting tips for my ears that will attach to these Bose ear buds. They can! . . . for several hundred dollars.

I'm telling you, anyone who rated these as 4-5 stars either (1) has never put them in their ears, (2) is lying, (3) is in denial that they spent $120 on a Bose product and it really *isn't* the best and they can't admit it because they are a Bose fanboy, or (4) has some kind of alien or prosthetic ears that just happen to be a perfect fit for these bizarre Bose buds.

I'm a Bose fan too - but I'm not afraid to admit that these are a colossal waste of money and poorly designed fit. 3 of my friends have them, and they ALL HAVE THE SAME fitment problems. At best they "hang" onto your ear like a climber dangling from a dangerous precipice, only to fall out to your utter disappointment and frustration.

I thought to myself, "I'm being difficult. Let me try another size." I shoved a smaller size into my ear - and pushed super hard to lodge it in there. It stayed! And it hurt. And after a minute, it popped out. Garbage.

Luckily, during the time since I've owned these expensive Bose earbud paperweights, I've managed to locate my V-modas. Do yourself a favor - buy the V-modas. They'll fit ANY ear, no matter how alien or prosthetic, and you'll love the sound and function, not to mention the extra dollars you'll have left over.

They also come with this bizarre, cool-idea-but-poorly-implemented fabric cord that clips to both right and left wires so you can "dangle" the ear buds around your neck without them falling down. But this weird innovation adds to the tangle of the rat's nest every time you try to take the buds out of their case, and you'll waste a couple precious minutes of your life untangling them every single time you want to use them - while you try to convince yourself that they were worth the money...

Sorry Bose, but maybe there's a reason that every other in-ear bud manufacturer is making their in-ear gel buds shaped like a soft barrel and not a smashed assymetrical uvula. Kudos for trying to be innovative - but you failed in a big way when you didn't actually try them on before you approved their manufacture.

I'd rate these 0 stars if I could.
