To use, set the wooden base on an even stable surface, place a tea light in the center indentation, then position the fondue pot in the appropriate indentations on the wooden base. Since the pot is not safe for stovetop use, be sure to prepare cheese fondue in a separate pan, then transfer it into the fondue pot. Once everything is in place, light the tea candle to keep the melted cheese hot, and be sure to give it an occasional stir to prevent it from burning. The unit's 7-ounce capacity nicely accommodates one or two people for an intimate dinner or if a friend stops by for a visit or to serve alongside a variety of other small dishes during a party. Two forks with stay-cool handles make it easy to dip anything from tomatoes, cucumbers, and olives to chorizo or pieces of French bread into the melted cheese.
