4.0 out of 5 stars Bosko's Best!, May 28, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Bosko Video: Cartoon Classics #16 (1927-1937-USA) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Bosko is one of the greatest cartoon characters to every hit the big screen in the 30s (actually, his first cartoon BOSKO THE TALK -INK KID was in 1929, but it wasn't in theatres).
Don't ignore this video thinking that you will seem these cartoons on TV someday, 'cause you WON'T!
I have spent 5 years searching for the Bosko cartoons (being 12 years old, that's almost half of my entire life) and they NEVER showed them on TV because THEY'RE CENSORED!
If you're worried about showing these cartoons to your kids because he might be racist then never fear...because he ISN'T!
Besides the cartoon BOSKO THE TALK-INK KID, he has a voice just like MICKEY MOUSE!
And it also has THE BUG CARNVIAL, NOAHA'S OUTING and MY OLD KENTUCKY HOME. The latter being a sound cartoon prior to STEAMBOAT WILLIE. Stemboat Willie recieved credit for being the first sound cartoon, because it was the first cartoon where the sounds appeared in sync witht the talking. THE BUG CARNIVAL and NOAHA'S OUTING are early Terrytoons and not as well-animated as the Bosko cartoons.
I would've given in 5 stars except that you could get all of the same Bosko cartoons on the DVD The Uncensored Bosko Vol. 1, which has better quality versions, plus even more cartoons than this.
