For children, still a good book,

This review is from: Bosnia: Fractured Region (World in Conflict) (Hardcover)
I can not quite say this is a 5 star or 4 star book, when it has a reading level for 9-12 year olds as purported in the description. It is still a good overview of the wars in Yugoslavia and is evenhanded. One can grasp many facts about the situation with this book that can be read quickly. Likewise this pertains some to Jeffrey B. Symynkywicz's Civil War in Yugoslavia.
