All pre-packaged, imported coffee seems to be the same...not good,
By Jason C. "Bon Vivant" (Sacramento, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bosnian Ground Coffee-Zlatna Dzezva (Vispak) 250g (Misc.)
Mostly for the novelty, I have tried many, many of the packaged, pre-ground foreign coffees available on Amazon, and I must say that very few of them are worth your time or money. They have obviously been sitting around or in transit for a very long time, and you would be far better off just buying the same crummy coffee at the super market where it would probably be much fresher. The packaging is certainly cool and fun, but it just is not worth the awful taste and very high shipping prices.

Having been raised with "turska kava" or the process of putting extra fine coffee into boiling hot water and letting it rise a few times until the proper color and texture is achieved, I'd have to say that Zlatna Dezva's aroma and taste is by far my favorite. Although, being Croatian, one should have loyalty to "Frank" brand, the Croatian-mixed coffee brand, with Frank you never know if it'll end up being a bitter beyond saviour cup of over-roasted coffee, or heaven.
So I choose Dzeva, because it's predictably good....so long as it isn't the kind with cardamom in it, I'm fine. (acquired taste for us Balkaners).

I love this Bosnian coffee! Do however note that this coffee comes in powder form and should not be used in espresso machines. It is meant to be made in a specific traditional manner. [...]
