More About the Author

I love to hear from my readers. mgsweb1@gmail.com thank you
National Bestselling author Maria Grazia Swan was born in Italy, but this rolling stone has definitely gathered no moss. She lived in Belgium, France, Germany, in beautiful Orange County, California where she raised her family, and is currently at home in Phoenix, Arizona--but stay tuned for weekly updates of Where in the World is Maria Grazia Swan?

As a young girl, her vivid imagination predestined her to be a writer. She won her first literary award at the age of fourteen while living in Belgium. As a young woman Maria returned to Italy to design for--ooh-la-la--haute couture. Once in the U.S. and after years of concentrating on family, she tackled real estate. These days her time is devoted to her deepest passions: writing and helping people find happiness.

Maria loves travel, opera, good books, hiking, and intelligent movies (if she can find one, that is). When asked about her idea of a perfect evening, she favors stimulating conversation, Northern Italian food and perfectly chilled Prosecco--but then, who doesn't?

Maria has written short stories for anthologies, articles for high profile magazines and numerous blogs tackling love and life.

This was a good book. I read it in a day, while resting from bad head cold. I did not want it to be over when I reached the end.

Mina Calvi inherited a software company after her mother's death, but with no head for business, attempts to off-load the company with the help of her attorney Adams. While waiting for the deal to go though, Mina helps out a friend, Ginger, by agreeing to take her place at a local nightclub, Bosom Bodies.
All dressed up with a wig and padded bra, Mina pulls off the transformation, as Ginger had yet to start the job, running off to Vegas to get married at the last moment. Only Barbara the manager was in on the trick. Mina had time on her hands as her boyfriend was traveling in Europe with his mother, so the distraction was timely and she welcomed the chance to help a friend.
When Barbara suddenly dies, and Mina's Volkswagen is apparently involved in the hit-and-run, the joke she was helping perpetrate suddenly gets out of hand and Mina finds herself in the middle of a mob battle with crooked cops, diamond smuggling, and murder. Add to that a mysterious new neighbor who is a detective with one of the Federal agencies and Mina finds herself in over her head and overwhelmed with seduction. Clueless as ever, Mina stumbles and bumbles through this second-in-a-series chic-lit mystery, witlessly providing proof for the police to follow at every turn.
If you like a lighthearted fun frolic set through a fresh voice, then this new series by Swan will fulfill your needs and garner the author a new following

This is the kind of book I truly love, the kind that keeps me and the protagonist guessing all along, one where I don't figure out "whodunnit" until the character has her epiphany, and most of all, leaves me daydreaming long after about the future these characters could be living. Brava!

I loved this book very much. I couldn't get enough of the character "Diego". The author wrote a very lively story with enough romance and intrigue and mystery, that you wanted more! The book was very well written, everything "flowed", and that it dealt in Orange County, CA, was a plus as I am familiar with the area. Thankfully, she continued the story with book 2, "Italian Summer" , which immediately downloaded and read. I am hopeful that the author is working on book #3! I definitely can recommend this author and her books.

"Maledizione" and a few other fun Italian words, is what you'll learn from author Maria Grazia Swan's main character Mina Calvi, in the book "Bosom Buddies - Mina's Adventures". This second book in a multi series ("Love Thy Sister" is the first book), continues with the life of Mina, who, though always being quick on the sassiness, naively puts herself in harms' way. There is mystery, murder, lies and betrayals in abundance! These are secrets Mina isn't supposed to know about, let alone put herself in the middle of, which puts her on a life or death path. Ms. Swan's creative writing, with humor injected and with Mina in a maze of misadventures, is a multi layered plot that will make you fly through reading it until you are done and anxiously ready to take on Mina's next adventures in the series. Give it a try!

I can't say that I didn't enjoy this book at all, but had difficulty with some of the loose ends and inconsistencies. Suddenly in Chapter 5, Mina thinks of an envelope in her purse with $100 in it and decides not to give it to the intended recipient. Where did the envelope come from? It's never explained, then or later. And why not give it to her? Mina has money; the other girl doesn't. Mina's relationship with Diego has more ups and downs than any junior high romance. One page he is the hero; the next a villain. Mina's motivation in solving the crime is never evident; she appears to be a bored rich girl with nothing else to do.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The author obviously knows the Southern California area well. It's a fast-paced well-written book with lovable characters. I'm looking forward to the next book. Mina is a delightful character, slightly ditzy, but very believable. We all know someone like her, and you can't help but rooting for her. The author tied up the loose ends very well. The ending, while disappointing in some ways, was true to the integrity of the story and I admire the author for ending it in the manner! Recommend it highly. A great read for an afternoon of enjoyment!

I was completely taken aback with Bosom Bodies. The blurb looked rather interesting, and I was pleasantly surprised with the authors writing style, ferocious with hardcore action. Delightful read, I'd highly recommend Bosom Bodies, and looking forward to reading more from author Maria Grazia Swan.
