The Industry Standard,
By Adron Buske "Designer, writer, musician" (St. Louis) - See all my reviews
This review is from: BOSS TU-2 Stage Tuner
I've had the Boss Chromatic tuner for 8 years. I used it as a gigging musician for three years, and it was the one part of my rig that never failed me. It's simple to use, very durable and versatile (for both guitar and bass, and with half step and step lower tunings). Now I use it in my home studio - it's far more reliable than any other tuner I've used, gear or software.
I've worked in the radio industry for over 5 years, and I've met a large portion of the alternative and active rock bands. When they come to play in the studio, they bring a Boss Chromatic tuner. I've had many conversations with these professional musicians about how they would vouch for it as their most indispensable piece of equipment. At $99 bucks, it might seem kind of pricey. But the rest of your effects pedals are worthless if your guitar isn't in tune. Even if you're just a beginner or a hobbyist, this is one investment you'll be pleased you made over and over again.

The "Die Hard" of pedals.,

This review is from: BOSS TU-2 Stage Tuner
This tuner looks and feels just like an ordinary stomp box which is definitely its strong point. I've had this for about 9 years and it as effective and sturdy as the day I bought it. It's simple, easy to read and the ability to mute is (I think) an underrated option (for switching guitars without that feedback and popping that comes with it). I always use this for live gigs because its discreet and easy to read in dark lighting. I have a Korg tuner and a couple built into my multi-effect processors but I always use this one. Yeah a hundred bucks is kind of pricy for a stomp box tuner but look at it as an investment. I'm going on a decade with this one pedal that's seen a lot of use and day to day wear and its still going strong. If this thing ever dies (which it refuses to do!) I'll be buying another one.

This is What you need,
This review is from: BOSS TU-2 Stage Tuner
This is what you need when it comes to fine tune your guitar or bass Live, on the Stage!
Rock solid casings and jacks, the LEDs are just brilliant, precise tuning. The batteries wont die that fast. And it does not affect your tone. It's true Bypass. 5 Stars.

This pedal is the best bang-for-your-buck pedal tuner out there. Its used by all the touring pros and you should use it too. I have had mine for years through countless gigs but it still works like the day I got it.

A must have for Guitarists,
This review is from: BOSS TU-2 Stage Tuner
I have been playing guitar for about 10 years and have done some semi professional recording as well as gigging. I agree with the previous posters that ~$100 is a lot to spend on a pedal...but it is well worth it and nothing else comes close. My friend had a fender pt-100 tuner and it seemed cheap and did not tune his bass well. Spend the extra money for this puppy. Also if you own several other boss pedals you can buy an AC adapter for this pedal and daisy chain to your other pedals. This allows you to have just one power source for multiple pedals, which can cut down on stocking 9vs and eliminate a tangled mess of power cords. The TU-2 provides for a more reliable rig and I highly recommend it.

Works exactly as advertised. Easy set up. CIear view. Press the pedal with your foot and you can tune without the sound coming out your amp--tune visually. I use it on the floor even when practicing (ie not on stage).

Great Tuner,

A great tuner for performing or rehearsal. The muting effect is worth the price alone. Very versitile. The only tuner you'll need. I also own the TU-12 which is great but I think I'll be using this from now on, especially when playing live. You won't be sorry you bought this item.

Most durable and accurate plug-in tuner.,
By Umami (Washington, DC (Takoma)) - See all my reviews

I like pitch forks in my living room where I can tune by ear, but nothing beats the BOSS TU-2 Chromatic Tuner Pedal for on-stage, on-the-fly tuning, where your audience is your focus. The lights make the tuner easy to read even in dark settings. This durable pedal allows you to tune silently, then at the stomp of the pedal, you're LIVE!

Apparently, currently (February 17, 2011) the TU-2 is out of production, replaced by Boss TU-3.
This Tu-2 is one of only six pedals I have in my Boss BC-60 pedal board. And should I say: it's undispensable. Easy to see, it allows hal-step down and a whole tone dow, it's hard and sustains impact as all Boss pedals. A sure hit.

This Tu-2 stage tuner is a good product. My husband does not care too much for it, because you do need to unplug it after use otherwise it will drain the batteries (went through 4 batteries before realizing that!). I was suggest this for beginning guitar players maybe or just to use at home. This is only my personal opinion. Overall, the product works great and does what it advertises!
