5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent metronome, great features at a great price
I needed a metronome that was very flexible and could handle different time signatures. This is much better than my $20 hand dial one that can only adjust in steps of 4 bpm. This one has different settings for any situation you might need. I love the settings and the tuning pitches as well. best for the money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Convenient but eats watch batteries
Pros: Its small, easy to use, inexpensive, durable, can clip it to a stand, and has nice variety of beats as well as the click isn't too annoying. The display is also nice with both a light and hand movement.

Cons: It doesn't turn up very loud and it goes through watch batteries very quickly. I don't know about you, but #2032 watch batteries aren't normally...

I don't know about you, but #2032 watch batteries aren't normally sitting around (not like 9v or AA) and even on lowest volume it goes through one every couple of months with daily use. I put sound through powered speaker system (or headphones) so the batteries don't get used too quicky and I can hear it. If you didn't, I suspect you'd eat batteries very quickly. Nothing like practicing with your band to the metronome and it suddenly dies and no batteries available.

If I had to do it over again, I'd go for the DB 60 (uses AA) or 90 (uses 9v or ac power) or look at the yamaha. In fact, I'm shopping for a db 90 now as I write this...

Look no further. This is the metronome for you. It's easy to operate, reasonably loud, produces an A from 438-442 Hz., and portable (easily fits in your pocket). I've used mine regularly for over a year and haven't yet replaced the battery. Buy it, and you won't be disappointed.

Length:: 1:57 Mins

This has been a very reliable metronome. I have used it a lot and have not changed the battery yet. For the price, I like it. And for the features, I keep using it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Frustrating Product, April 3, 2011
This review is from: Boss Db-30 Dr. Beat Metronome (Electronics)
My brother and I have two of these dr beats which eat batteries at an obscene rate and have a ridiculous glitchy problem of reseting whenever it feels like it.
On other listing of this product up to 20 out of thirty people report this problem and it is mentioned on many customer review sites.
I've spent over a hundred dollars over the two metronomes so far and now i do not even have a single one of them working properly.
Boss ought to do a recall...

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Little Unit, October 29, 2010

I went to my local GC to check out tuners & saw this one but thought I could find a better rice online & I did. I have Boss effects pedals now & have had many Boss products through the years & they have never let me down so the brand name was certainly a selling point. That being said they have not let me down in the quality department & so far I really like this metronome. I was also looking for a compoact unit to carry in my gig bag. One feature I wanted was to be able to choose my own beats per minute which this unit has & not have 'pre-set' ones & the tap feature is really cool to figure out song tempos on the fly. There are a few other rhythmic functions/settings as well that I have not really used so far but I would imagine would be usfeul to drummers, percussionists, & musicians in general. Judging by the quality I think I will be using it for years to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars just right for travel, metronome, November 25, 2011

there are many good metronomes out there. most are real fancy, so fancy you'll never know how to operate it. thie one is just right, the price is fair for what you get but the portability is the real selling point for me. You can clip it in your shirt pocket or guitar strap and keep perfect time, throw it in your gig bag and go. I love mine. some people may want the fancy ones, this isn't it. it just does everything your actually gonna need and fits in your shirt pocket.

5.0 out of 5 stars All the features of a modern Metronome, February 1, 2011
This review is from: Boss Db-30 Dr. Beat Metronome (Electronics)
I had an old matrix metronome from the early 1990s that you would dial in the BPM and let it rip. Your only choice was the click along with the flashing LED. Well I wanted to get better and decided that keeping a locked down beat was going to allow me to progress but the Matrix wasn't giving me the coaching / audio cues I needed. The DB-30 does.

I bought this because of the 24 beat variations along with the 9 rhythm types (esp triplets). This allows me to get back into the beat if I mess up. With something just clicking away I have no reference point on the measure so I would be sloppy with the Matrix.

I like the display. Some of these modern LCDs are too faint for me to see. the DB-30's isn't bright but you can see it and you watch the virtual animated needle rock back and forth easily. I bought it for the sound really but this is a big plus.

Tap in and reference tones round out the features that I use. This DOES use a bother of a battery - the CR2032 - but that is what keeps it small. I guess I could complain but this would have been magic if I had one of these 15 years ago. So I'm not complaining but toss an extra battery in your music bag just in case.

4.0 out of 5 stars Keeping Time, November 17, 2010
This review is from: Boss Db-30 Dr. Beat Metronome (Electronics)
I like it. Simple design, fairly easy to use. Set a meter, pick a click to the beat. It will do straight time and allows you to use off beat, triplet, or sixteen beat options. It is a necessary tool for any drummer at any level.
