Great Duets Album,
By
This review is from: Bossa Duets (Audio CD)
Joyce invited a small group of close friends and daughter for this select duet album and the result is a fresh and great album:- Joyce / Guitars, Vocals, Compositions and Production - Toninho Horta / Guitars, Vocal and Compositions - Joao Donato / Piano, Vocals and Compositions - Wanda Sa / Vocals - Johnny Alf / Piano, Vocals and Compositions - Ana Martins (Her daughter) / Vocals Plus: - Tutty Moreno (Her husband) / Drums - Rodolfo Stroeter / Bass and Production - Teco Cardoso / Woodwinds and - Lula Galvao / Electric Guitar Here Joyce and guests perform songs that they had previously recorded, but with new and fresh arrangements like (E Vamos La - with Joao Donato), and other classic hits in a new perspective. I definitely enjoy this duet album very much. Tracks (Not listed by Amazon here): 1. Voce E Eu (with Toninho Horta) 2. Lugar Comum (with Joao Donato) 3. Receita de Samba (with Ana Martins) 4. Plexus (with Johnny Alf) 5. Yarabela (with Toninho Horta) 6. Crianca (with Wanda Sa) 7. London Samba (with Toninho Horta) 8. O Sapo (with Joao Donato) 9. Fa da Bahia (with Wanda Sa) 10. Ceu E Mar (with Johnny Alf) 11. E Vamos La (with Joao Donato & Ana Martins) Many "plus", the only "con" is that this Sony Music CD is only available via import from Japan even though it was recorded completely in Brasil, it beats me, but worth the struggle if you collect Joyce's music or like any of her guests or just love Brazilian Jazz in general.
