Completely Useless,
By James W Orr (Owings Mills, MD United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bossa Nova and Samba: History, People, Lyrics, Scores, Recordings, Music. (Paperback)
I was very disapointed with this book. The history section is woefully brief (11 pages covering 1494 to the present day). The people section is just a list of names (some with dates) with no other information. The 16 pages of lyrics contain just two songs in English (The Girl From Ipanema and Waters of March, great songs but readily available from many other sources). The same two songs represent the scores part of the book. Again, these songs are available from other sources and are reproduced too small to be able to read anyway. The list of recordings has no information beyond date, composer, and singer. The "book" is cheaply bound, a waste of paper, and completely usless
