Book Description

January 8, 2003
The Astro-guide that no worker should be without!

At last! A no-nonsense astrology book that explains why all bosses are such complete and utter bastards. Learn why Cancerian bosses never mean what they say, and why Capricorn bosses will never invite you round for dinner. Discover why Scorpio bosses all think you want their jobs, and why working for a Sagittarius can result in falling out of a helicopter into a pile of manure. Find out why Aquarius bosses all want to save the world (so long as it doesn’t cost them any money), and why Pisces bosses are contradictions in terms.

Ever wondered why your boss ignores all your ideas? Maybe he’s a Taurus and can’t stand anything new. Maybe he’s a Virgo and too busy compiling the week’s to-do lists. Or maybe he’s a Gemini and never shows up to work in the first place.

Bosstrology is a tax-deductible reference tool that should be in every office, shop, farm, orchard, or construction site.

Essential reading for disgruntled employees!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dead on accurate, June 5, 2003
This review is from: Bosstrology: The Twelve Bastard Bosses of the Zodiac (Paperback)
I would swear that the authors watched my last boss to make their description of the Scorpio Boss. This person did everything that was listed in book. I would say that if you want to understand/survive your boss, you should get this book!

4.0 out of 5 stars Satire is a good thing in the workplace, especially..., July 28, 2006
This review is from: Bosstrology (Hardcover)
if you work for one of the twelve bastards listed in this book. If you enjoy British wit you should purchase this book, then by all means take it to work where you will be a hit when you convene with coworkers-snickering of course at the complete idiocy of the bastard in charge. And, if you aspire to be the boss- you can gain insight into your own bastard destiny. The wee cost of this book, and the fact that it made me laugh out loud more than once, made it worth the 4.99 I paid at B&A.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious! A must-have for astrology lovers!, June 22, 2005
This review is from: Bosstrology: The Twelve Bastard Bosses of the Zodiac (Paperback)
I'm not very into astrology, but I once was and this book was cheap. The cover looked funny, so I figured it'd be worth the couple dollars. I was so right.

The book draws on some actual astrological stereotypes, but it's also rather satirical - imagine Matt Groening writing all of the descriptions. Each section includes advice on such things as how to get a raise from that particular type of boss and how to get his or her job. Like the rest of the description, they're exaggerated to the point of sheer hilarity.

Of particular interest for me were the descriptions for Capricorn and Virgo. I'm a Capricorn, I own a beige suit and I like to know everything. My mother's a Virgo and is organized beyond belief.

If you or an astrology lover you know has a bastard boss (and you know you/they do), then definitely get this book. It's a laugh and a half!
