I put this on my Craftsman Pro portable compressor, it works perfect and is a direct replacement. I don't know what the previous review is talking about in terms of vertical clearance, this thing is super shallow and doesn't require raising the compressor at all. Took 2 minutes to install, opens and closes easily, drains the tank QUICK when needed. Great product!

This makes a great replacement drain valve for air compressors. Much more easy to use than original screw type that was a pain in the but to use.

The ball valve works great on my old compressor which previously had a wing nut to release the air from the tank--difficult to reach and turn at bottom of tank. Now I actually let the air out when I am finished using compressor.

Just picked this up for my Porter Cable C2002 compressor which had the screw drain fail after only 6 months and 10-15 times of use. I'm actually glad it failed because I hated the screw type. Don't know about the longevity of the product because it has been in all of 12 minutes with no use, but it makes me happy not to hear a hissing leak from the old screw type. The lever alone makes this a 5 star

Great replacement for petcock that came on compressor. Much easier to use, so I'm now draining the tank each night when I finish. Should have added one of these year's ago!

When I bought my compressor it had a normal screw type drain on the bottom, it was a pain to thread the screw in/out to close and open the valve. It eventually developed a small leak and I kept tightening it more each time to stop the leak. Eventually the screw broke and became useless.
I got this replacement ball valve and couldn't be happier. It is very small and I have plenty of room under my horizontal compressor for it. The small leaver makes clearance a non-issue also. The leaver turns very easy allowing you to fully open the valve or just partially. It's nice being able to fully open the valve to very quickly to blast out moisture or empty the tank. You can also partially open the valve to blast out moisture then continue to use the compressor without refilling. It has no internal o-ring to fail and also is brass so it won't rust out. The quality seems decent enough and is made in Taiwan.

Good brass --good machining, works even better than i thought !!
Nice slow precision machining makes this valve work better than expected. Be sure you have 2 1/2 inches of clearance from the verticle air tank to the surface or better raise the tank .

I am a handyman and I had the old screw type valves on my double tank heavey duty compressor and they where a pain. They actually wore out and I needed to use a pair of pliers to open and close them. I like to release all of the air and mosture out of me tanks because they will last longer that way. With these new 1/4 turn valves it is a breeze!
