I used this stapler to put down ~400ft^2 of engineered hickory flooring. It was easy enough to setup. The adjustable cleat has lots of degrees of freedom, but once I set it up, it never moved or required any adjustment throughout the job. I like that the safety won't engage when the clip is empty preventing dry-fires. The drive depth was consistent from start to finish. I have an adjustable regulator on the hose end and once I dialed it in, I never had to touch it even after starting/stopping over multiple evenings. Though the magnesium makes it light, it still feels solid and well built. I'm happy with my purchase.

I'm about halfway done putting down a 225 sq.ft. Bruce 5/16" thick oak floor. The only problem I had was when I first started the job, it wouldn't fire sometimes. I loosened the yellow thumb screws and re-adjusted the base, the gun worked perfect from that point on. The key to this stapler is to make sure the metal safety with the 2 curved hooks on the end is pushed all the way up when in position or else the gun won't fire. I'm not sure what the purpose of the safety button on the side is for, the gun still fires in either position. Also my gun still fires even when out of staples, not sure why. Otherwise I like the tool, very light and comfortable to use. It uses either 7/32" or 1/4" 18 ga. crown staples. I'm using a 1" long staple with 80-85 PSI.

If you're installing 3/8 - 5/8" hardwood floors, this is a fine stapler! Especially like adjustable feet and swivel hose hookup

Great stapler!Using it to install 3/8" engineered hardwood in the entire upstairs. Very easy to use. After very few adjustments, it sets the staple at the perfect depth.

Worked for about ten feet of BR-111 5/16" thick chestnut flooring before dying on me. Trigger wouldnt pull and nose was stuck in. My PSI was set at 62 pounds, the staples used were the ones that came with the kit and I set up the gun quickly using the supplied directions. Called Bostitch for support and they directed me to an authorized warranty center (Apollo Power Equipment in Niles Illinois) to have the gun looked at. Went there at 10:15AM and left about 11:30 with the gun fiddled with but NOT repaired. Called the vendor who sold me the gun (SpeedyNails) and they said they would not replace the gun and that it was a warranty issue. Took it to Pro-Mar in Chicago and fixed it in about 15 minutes. Got back to jobsite and used it successfully for about three hours before I had to leave for the day. I was impressed with how quiet it was and how the staples drove in cleanly and consistently. However, the safety button on the side of the gun didnt seem to want to stay in "fire" mode and clicked off with the slightest touch. It was quite maddening to have to pull the gun away from the work, flip the safety and then re-engage to the work to fire more staples. It should have a more clear detent position on or off. Hooked it up this morning and it died again with the same symptoms after about an hour and a half of use. I briefly considered frisbeeing it from the 25th floor. Bostitch is sending me another gun to replace this one and I hope it works better. I've never had ANY issue with my other Bostitch nail and staple guns. I will update this review after I've received and used the replacement.

THIS IS ALSO FOR SOLID HARDWOOD SUCH AS Bruce Natural Selections. It is also for other engineered floor boards. IT IS NOT FOR STANDARD THICK FLOOR BOARDS. It is really hard to figure out what is the right tool with Bostitch. The Bostitch Stapler recommended by Bruce for National Selections 5/16 thick solid hardwood is nearly impossible to get and is more expensive. This stapler take the place of that other one and additionally works for engineered too. I can't find any negatives with this one compared to the one specific one purpose one they mentioned - this one does more. It even comes with 1000 of the 1" staples most use for Natural Selections. This is a precisely made tool, easy to use and setup and used hardly any air to work to boot. It is as right for Bruce Natural Selection as any Bruce recommends in the manual and seem to be the most affordable one. Now there are other brands you can find for $79-108 dollars that people have found suitable for their projects. To me I rather spend a little more to get a better tool that I at least think will give me less trouble. You do get what you pay for. Now it could be the others are just fine, I don't know, and for maybe one project they will be fine. But I like the way this one loads, will stop when staples are getting low so you don't think you shot a staple and you didn't and go on to the next board. It has a trigger lockout, and the air connection swivels. It is also kinda quite which is nice. No super loud staple sound. I felt more confident getting this one as it does use the perfect 7/8 crown, 18 gauge staples.

If you wonder why these staplers are not the kind you bang with a mallet is that flooring such as Natural selections are not banged tight together as they are stapled as they fit together perfectly by design.

After I do two rooms I will likely sell it. Still comes out cheaper than renting of having to get and return it, risking getting a beat-up one to use and rushing, even with out selling it.

What a pleasure to work with! Installed 100 sq. feet. of 3/8 Red Oak solid hardwood over 23/32 OSB using Bostitch 1 1/4" staples. No misfires, no jams, just solid performance. Highly recommended.

I bought this because I couldn't find anyone in my area that rented it. I live in the Boonies. I installed approximately 800 square feet of 1/2" engineered flooring. It worked perfectly, it was easy to adjust and stayed set for the entire floor. Amazon shipped it quickly and it arrived in a few days.

It worked great till it broke...I'm now waiting for a replacement from Amazon.

I own several other tools and and nail guns from Bostitch and have never had a problem. This floor stapler was working great without issue until the safety mechanism got stuck in the in position and the trigger didn't release. There is no jam or other obvious problem.

We laid about 2000 square feet of flooring with this stapler and it worked beautifully. The bottom plate and guides are plastic and come loose, but it's not a big problem.

Very reliable stapler!!!
