Comfortable Design Keeps You in Control
Ergonomically designed for ease of use, the MIIIFN features an elongated handle that lets you work in a natural, comfortable position. For control, the extra-wide 1/2- and 3/4-inch interchangeable base plates sit flush against floor boards for stability, so you can drive cleats at the proper angle and depth every time. Additionally, a pre-finished floorboard adapter foot won't scuff or scratch floors during installation for a professional-grade look.
Lightweight, Durable Construction for Everyday Use
The MIIIFN Pneumatic Flooring Cleat Nailer's lightweight body and graphite FloorGuard mallet make this tool comfortable enough to wield all day without fatigue. Built for durability, this nailer will withstand the wear and tear of any jobsite.
The Bostitch MIIFN Pneumatic Flooring Cleat Nailer measures 3.13 x 11.5 x 17.25 inches (WxHxL) and weighs 11.2 pounds. It is covered by a seven-year limited warranty.

What's in the Box
Cleat nailer, FloorGuard graphite mallet, pre-finished-flooring adapter foot, and two base plates (1/2 inch and 3/4 inch).
Yes, it’s spendy, especially if you’re a homeowner just planning to do a couple of rooms. But if you weigh the cost of a professional installation, you come out miles ahead doing it yourself, even with this purchase, and you can work at your own pace instead of rushing a rental back to the store. If price is an obstacle, you might consider a manual nailer; you’ll pay about half as much, but you’ll do more than twice the work!
Professionals love this model, and for good reason. It’s made of aircraft-grade aluminum, so it’s light and strong. Your compressor needs to run between 60 and 100 psi, but best performance came in between 70 and 90 psi. There’s practically no learning curve, so with just a light tap of the mallet, you’ll be cruising along your flooring with 420 inch-pounds of nailing pressure.
The base plates – one is for half-inch planks, the other, ¾-inch -- are nice and wide, giving you rock-solid stability, and the magazine holds 110 fasteners, keeping reloading of your 1-1/2- to 2-inch cleats to a minimum.
We like the long-reach handle, but a shorter version is available, too. If you’re putting down hardwood or engineered flooring, you’d be doing yourself a favor by picking up this nailer. -- Kris Jensen-Van Heste

Swing away (if you want),
By Kevin J. Berry (Flushing, MI United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bostitch MIIIFN 1-1/2- to 2-Inch Pneumatic Flooring Nailer (Tools & Home Improvement)
I'm a small volume custom home builder with a crew of five. We install the hardwood flooring on most of our jobs. We have used a manual powernailer for years. Recently I purchased Bostitch's MIIIFN floor nailer and now have moved our manual nailer to the back of the tool bin. Just a light tap is all that is required to fire the nail. In the event the board is slightly bowed feel free to swing away and hammer the board in place. This tool is easy on my carpal tunnel and for those who aren't ambidexterious it's a snap to use with either hand. It does take some time getting used to dragging the air hose around with you, and you definitely need ear protection. But the benefits far outweigh these nuisances.

bostitch MIIIFN l- cleat nailer,

This review is from: Bostitch MIIIFN 1-1/2- to 2-Inch Pneumatic Flooring Nailer (Tools & Home Improvement)
I had a difficult time deciding which nailer to buy. Should I get the 2" stapler or one of the many cleat nailers out there? I called my hardwood flooring company (BR-111) and was advise that they do not recomend the flooring stapler as the tongues may break while stapling. I ordered the Bostitch floor cleat nailer to install my solid Brazilian Cherry Hardwood flooring. I found out that Brazilian Cherry is the 4th hardest hardwoods availabe. Brazilian walnut is the hardest. I also found out that Brazilian Cherry is almost double as hard as the hardest american oaks. I received my nailer and started nailing down the floor. I set my compressor at 85 psi and nevet touched it again. I installed almost 700 feet of hardwood and the nailer worked perfect. I love my nailer but have to mention that with its size you have to face nail everything within 8" from the wall as the tool is to wide to actuate the striking mechanism. All-in-all this is the tool to buy if you have any doubts. Buy the nails from home depot as their about $7.00 cheaper that online.

Expensive But Worth It.,

This tool makes laying a hardwood floor almost fun. If you are laying a prefinished floor, I would also recommend the optional foot (MIIIFOOT). I don't see that this is available on Amazon. I purchased mine on eBay. Also, some of the reviews on this item are for the MIIIFS, which is a floor stapler, not a nailer. According to some sources, there are less problems with the wood splitting with the nailer. There seems to be a hot market for these tools on eBay. I plan to resell mine when I am finished with it.
