5.0 out of 5 stars This liteweight stapler nails the competition, March 4, 2000

This will be the third of it's kind that I own. As a trim contractor I need 3 things in my tools, Durability, ease of use, and light weight. This is one of the most powerful staplers of its size. It will sink 1" staples into solid oak all day. With it's bottom loading magazine reloads are quick and easy. Don't let the high impact plastic body fool you, this baby can take some punishment. Mine have been in the field daily for over 3 years without a sickday. Well worth it's price.

5.0 out of 5 stars LIKE IT, July 7, 2001

I bought this stapler after buying the Bostich BT50 brad nailer kit thinking brads would hold overhead paneling. WRONG! I went back and bought the S23SX kit but kept the brad nailer because I fell in love with it. The S23SX has also been a dream. No jams and light weight with plenty of power. The only drawback is that you have to fiddle with the compressor output in order to get the right staple setting or you'll sink em deep. It was ideal for the overhead paneling and various other tack jobs that I do. I'm soon to be in the market for a framing nailer and probably wouldn't buy a Bostich but they have a winner in the BT50 and S23SX

3.0 out of 5 stars Works good but I have no other comparison, July 12, 2004

My dad who has worked as a carpenter for 25 years bought me this gun as a present. He is a fan of Bostich and their quality. I have been buying Porter Cable and have found no reason to switch after using this stapler. It has worked fine for me after about 1000 staples and has never jammed. I have found that about 1 in 50 shots delivers no staple. In addition, the magazine is so well enclosed, I cannot tell when I am empty. Becase of the feed problem, half the time I do not get a staple, I think that I am empty and try to reload... finding a half full magazine. I have also found that the depth setting does not seem to work. Set at any level, it seems to deliver a flush or slightly raised staple, but not in a consitant manner. Overall, I am statisfied, but hoped for better; given my druthers, I would try an alternate brand if I bought another finish stapler on my own.
