5.0 out of 5 stars Worked like a charm, March 2, 2009

Worked flawlessly to lay 600sq/ft of 3/8" solid Brazillian Redwood from BellaWood. Make sure you grab this gun for the hard solid woods as I rented the LHF97125-2 first and it wouldn't push the 20ga staples all the way through.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have foor thinner hardwood floors, June 29, 2009
This review is from: Bostitch SX150-BHF-2 18-gauge Hardwood Flooring Stapler (Tools & Home Improvement)
I used this gun to install about 100 sq feet of Bruce/Armstrong Natural Reflections Oak flooring. It made the install go super smooth with no major issues. Jammed maybe once and it took a few minutes to get a feel for it. Once you get going it is amazing. I highly recommend it.

We are in the construction/residential remodeling business in Florida. Most homes here are built on a concrete slab so we have installed many hardwood floors by gluing them...not fun, but necessary. We recently remodeled a frame home with plywood sub-floors and finally had the opportunity to use staples for the installation, so ordered this tool. What a time saver!! It worked like a charm throughout the entire 2300 sq. foot installation. No glitches, no jamming up of the staples. I just wish there were more wood frame structures down this way! Highly recommended!

4.0 out of 5 stars Works like it should!, May 5, 2010

Was given this gun to use when another gun stopped working properly. This was during an installation of BR-111 5/16" solid chestnut tongue in groove flooring with an osb underlayment.
The gun was fairly simple to set up to match the profile of the product, took about five minutes at most.
Took more air pressure (77psi vs 62psi) and was louder than the 1838K. Once the pressure was right it knocked in the 1" staples consistently.
The stamped steel safety nosepiece was kinda sharp on the edges so I took a file and dressed a light bevel on it. Always bring this gun into the work from from behind not the top so the safety doesnt leave a scratch on a finished board.
It's a lightweight gun that can be used ALL day.

Used this to put down 700sf of flooring and it worked wonderfully. It did jam up once on the last staple before empty, but other than that no problems. Not too bad for 7500 staples.

4.0 out of 5 stars What about parts?, December 2, 2009
This review is from: Bostitch SX150-BHF-2 18-gauge Hardwood Flooring Stapler (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought this bostitch sx150 stapler last year and needed a new o ring. Seriously I could not find a single shop in town that would help me with it, so than came the online research for bostitch and I found [...] to be the best fit when it came to pricing and parts. They even had a little part map on there site which let me know how to install the dang thing. Just a heads up in case your looking for bostitch parts on this stapler.

4.0 out of 5 stars Flooring Stapler, September 22, 2009

Instructions could be improved (small print and figures difficult to read). Stapler loading not intuitive. Must keep shoe flat on new flooring (not sub-floor), if not may staple on surface. If new user, practice on mock-up recommended. Once I got going (learning curve) tool worked good - no mis-fires.

5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest thing since sliced bread!, August 20, 2009
This review is from: Bostitch SX150-BHF-2 18-gauge Hardwood Flooring Stapler (Tools & Home Improvement)
The first time I did floor, I went with the gluing route and what a sticky pain in the rear that was... 700sqft took months. This time I lucked out and have a wood sub-floor. We went with 5/16" solid Brazilian Mountain Teak... and this stapler has been wonderful. Pounds in the staples to the perfect depth with just 80 psi. Fast and clean (180sqft done in about 16 hours). This stapler is very light and slides well on the tongue. Over the course of 2600 staples, I had no jams, but it did misfire once where it fired two at once - send a spark flying a good foot. "The price was right" - even with overnight shipping.

4.0 out of 5 stars Too much plastic, January 7, 2009

The stapler worked ok, but the plastic shoe broke within 5 minutes after I started using it. Sears now has a Craftsman stapler which is made better and costs about 20% less.
