After disassembling the framing nailer, it was obvious that all the o-rings were intact and that the plastic trigger valve was the weak link in the gun. The kit installed easily, and with newly lubed o-rings the nailer is like a brand new tool. The symptom of a bad trigger valve is a constant leak of air when the gun is plugged into the air hose. This part was backordered at the official Bostitch replacement parts website. Buy it here, save money, and get back to work.

I own a Bostich N80SB which is nearly the same as the N79WW framing nailer.
At first I could not find my instruction manual, my model stickers were worn off the nailer, so I looked on line and made comparisons and the best I could tell I owned a N95RHN and ordered a valve for that gun. When I discovered the owners manual later I was afraid I got the wrong valve. Before I returned the valve though, I read the package closely, and discovered the valve works on a wide variety of models. for instance, the N95 model calls for an AV-6 valve and the one I have, the N85 calls for an AV-1 valve. But this valve doubles for both the AV-6 and the AV-1 (AV-11). It looks different from the valve that came out of my gun, but the exchange was perfect. The gun works better than new.

This valve fits the following models, 650s4-2, 650s5-2, 750s4-2, 750s5-2, 850s4-2, 863s4-2, N50, N57, N59, N60, N64, N70, N80c, N86, N100, RN45, RN46, T40BSX-3, T40BSX-ST, T40S5CLP, T50s4-2, N52fn, N62fn, N79rh, N79ww, N80sb, N88rh, N88ww, N90pt, and N95rhn.

So you can see that most of the Bostich guns use the same valve, and I believe by looking at it compared to my original valve, it is probably an improvement in design. The valve is purly plastic, so expect to go through more than one in the life of your tool.

I give the replacement process a 5 star easy job. Back in business in 15 minutes. A little expensive but compared to a new gun, this is a save.

You can tell if your valve is the problem if it leaks air constantly, does not send the proper valume to the striker, or if you have to play tricks with the triger to get the gun to fire. If you nail a lot, have one on hand when you go to the job just in case. The valve can fail rather suddenly.

Amazon is 100% the best for delivery and service.

Trigger valve kit installed easily in just a few minutes. All I needed was a hammer, a rag, and the air compressor to install it. Nail gun works like the day I bought it. The instructions said to use compressed air to extract the old valve, which worked great--but you want to make sure you use a rag to catch it like the instructions say because the valve pops out with some force. New valve doesn't look exactly like the old one, but it works.

The kit provided the valve along with the pin driver and lube and instruction sheet. It took just a few minutes and the framing nailer worked good again without air leaking from around the trigger area.

Last time I had the nailer out to work on a fence, I failed to check the hose pressure on my air compressor. Sure enough, it was set to ~115 psi from the time it was used to inflate a few bicycle tubes and tires. That was discovered, unfortunately, only after the o-ring for the trigger valve had already blown out after a few nails were driven, rendering the nailer inoperable, and with a pronounced stream of air flowing from the trigger area.

After a quick diagnosis from various on-line resources, I turned to Amazon for a repair kit, since they had the best prices along with favorably rated suppliers. As someone else suggested, I ordered two, so as to have a spare on hand should I ever make that same mistake again.

They arrived quickly. At first I thought I ordered the wrong part, as it did not look like the valve assembly that came out of my nailer, but the repair unit simply had both halves of the assembly pre-assembled, whereas the blown unit came out of my nailer in two pieces. The replacement was also shaped slightly differently, but a comparison between the old and the new confirmed that the o-rings would in fact seal where they were supposed to. Once that was figured out, the reassembly was straightforward, and I was back up and running. By following the included instructions, the entire repair, including the time-out to verify the part was the right one, took not much more than fifteen minutes. It would have been even faster had I taken the time to grab an appropriate sized hammer to drift the pins out the first time, instead of grabbing the first thing out of the tool box, which was far too heavy for the job at hand.

My framing nailer started leaking air out of the trigger, so I ordered this kit to replace it. Went together easily and it worked!

Purchased an N80SB 11/1999, used heavily for a year, occasionally since then. Trigger valve had intermittent problems recently, started hissing 06/2011. Parts List specifies "TVA1 Kit, Trigger Valve". The TVA11 kit instructions were easy to understand, kit was easy to install, nailer works perfectly now.
