I purchased this Boston Acoustics 5.1 system to go in my new projector room. I was looking for a smaller speaker package to get the most out of my projection wall without speakers sticking out. The speaker system comes with really nice speaker mounts that were really easy to install and the system doesn't stick out at all in the room but still manages to deliver excellent sound for movies and sporting events. I did purchase another boston center channel speaker to get 6.1 sound out of my system which I would recommend to others wanting the extra back speaker.

Received the speakers on time. I replaced my tower speakers with these because I purchased flat panel and room constraints. They sound great, am going to purchase new amp next.

BA SoundWare 5.1 speaker package is a very nice speaker package. I bought this due to the minimal footprint and the look of the speakers, knowing that they were not the loudest. Having said that, I'm very happy with the sound. It gets plenty loud. If you are considering these speakers, it obvious that comparing the sound quality to floor standing speakers is idiotic. However, the sound quality is good, suprisingly good. The mounting bracket that came with it are supurb and saved me the trouble of purchasing them. The appearance is clean and stylish, and the small package of the speakers does not stick out in a room. I only had minor trouble fitting the wires to the speaker posts (I would recommend 16 gauge or thinner). Very happy with the purchase, it looks discrete and sounds great. I recommend to anyone looking for a speaker package that won't take up much room, like shelve or floor speakers.

Since quality of sound is such a subjective thing, let me give some background so you know where I'm coming from. I'm not exactly a huge audiophile, but I care enough about sound quality that I tend to buy Shure earbuds for my iPod, spent quite a few hours testing audio quality for different ripping/bit rates when converting my CDs, and generally want something that sounds much better than just average. My main constraint in buying surround speakers was the spouse factor... I was not going to get away with huge speakers and a large subwoofer. Finally, I went from just a pair of Sony bookshelf speakers to this system.

Ok, with that out of the way, back to the sound: It is really awesome. These are in a big open room, with tall ceilings and where the home theater is in one corner of the room. This set handles that well, and just creates an incredible sound field that works really well. I have these paired with a Denon AVR-1712 receiver, and with a bit of tweaking have it dialed in where you really feel like you are in the middle of the action, either with a movie or something like a network broadcast football game. I get more bass and volume than I really need and the receiver is at maybe 40-50% volume.

They give you a great range of options for getting these either mounted, or simply placed on a shelf at a good angle for listening.

Long story short, these passed the spouse test with flying colors, and I couldn't be happier with the sound quality.

I recently purchased two sets of Boston Accoustic speakers. The experience is highly recommended. The price was excellent and the sound coming from these tiny speakers unbelievable. I also own a set of Bose speakers and I can tell by experience that these Bostons are just as good as the Boses. As an added bonus, the come complete with the wall mounting accessories, so you will only need to purchase the cables to hook them up to your amplifier. In one word, GREAT!

As the title states, not within any literature nor the website will you find the voltage of the sub-woofer within the box. Be warned it's 110v/60hz only!
Boston Acoustics not really too interested in doing anything about this, which is a shame as few retailers will give a refund for a non-faulty product.
