I chose BA Voyager 6 because they were the largest I could tuck between my open rafter eaves. Great sounding speakers with deep bass and very easy to mount. Large knobs on the ends mount the speakers to the supplied brackets and make it easy to remove without tools when needed.

I did a lot of research on outdoor speakers as I wanted to get some good, quality sounding speakers for our new covered deck. Very happy w/ these Boston Acoustic speakers. They have good, full sound and can crank really loud (louder than we ever listen to them). I was considering the 7's as I have a special affinity for bass, but decided on the 6's based on other's feedback and the cost difference. Though I don't know how they would compare side by side, I'm happy with the low end on these 6's and in the overall sound.

I had originally purchased two of JBL Outdoor speakers (http://www.amazon.com/JBL-Control-Bookshelf-Outdoor-Speaker/dp/B001ABN8LQ) from Costco, and was really quite disappointed with the low-end sound (considering the brand name), so I took them back and got these BA's.

Would definitely recommend.

I researched long and hard for a good set of outdoor speakers that were quality, had good bass range and projected well into large space (backyard). Check, check and check. I went with these instead of similar Polk, Klipsch and Bose models.

You'll need a decent receiver to power them, but if you're dropping the coin for these nice speakers, having a $150-$200 2 channel receiver behind them is the least you can do. I got a Yamaha 2 channel which does the trick nicely.

Installation was simple and the speakers look great too. The speakers have not been through a winter yet, but I live in Minnesota so I'll be taking them down and storing them indoors regardless for the bitter cold of January and February.

Hope this helps, I rarely review anything I buy online. I'm so happy with these speakers though that I decided to make an exception this time.

Most outdoor speakers lack bass and are affected by placement. These outdoor speakers are better than most.

I have these out by the pool. The sound is outstanding. These are excellent speakers!

I did alot of research for a set of outdoor speakers. I went and listened to some at local stores and compared some prices. What is so amazing is that for the price of this pair of speakers, i could only get one speaker at this retail store.(which is outrageous)Not to mention these sound exceptionally better than anything I listened to at the store. I really think boston acustics has made an incredible product. High power handling, wide range of response, and a great bass response for the size. The speaker itself is made out of materials like butyl rubber and copolymer, which will not be deteriorated by uv light or excessive heat. The tweeter is a dome tweeter; superior to the cone tweeter. I was able to boost these with an amp and it really brought them to life!! I could entertain the whole neighborhood if i wanted to. amazing product
