Here's some info on how this cd compares to some of the others in this series of releases. This recording is better than the StonyBrook release and the American Univ release. Yes, there are some minor faults to the sound, but in all it is superior to the others mentioned. A big plus is the percussion was miked very well and sounds really good. Both guitars were on fire (as usual) and sound good although no major surprises here. If you liked the other releases mentioned, you will be happy with this one as well.

To me, how can a concert of the original Allman lineup be anything but Great? They would play their songs a little different every night to enhance the "live" experience. I really enjoyed listening to this recording since there was only a three year period that we could hear the original band. It's one of the rare "jewels" that have been uncovered and put to CD.

I picked this one up off the Allman Brothers web sight, I am very impressed with it. Great song selection, some hiss but not that bad. Another plus is it clocks in at almost eighty minutes, they also have Duane & Berry with them. Some great guitar from Dickey & Duane, and Gregg & Dickey deliver their classic vocals. This is the last so far of this series, all five sets are well worth purchasing. There is not a whole lot out there of the older stuff with Duane & Berry, so this is great stuff to have.

Whenever it comes to old recordings released by classic bands, I always make it a point to read the one star reviews. I want to know, in advance, if I'm getting a shabby recording and usually there are some knowledgeable fans who will alert me as to whether this comes from a cheap cassette player in the audience, or the soundboard. The one star reviews here reveal nothing. There's no use comparing this, or any other record, to "Fillmore East". That record had everything going for it: top-notch production, white-hot performances and an enthusiastic audience. Even the photos are classic. So, I'm not expecting "Fillmore East" here, just a decent recording of a good performance, and that's exactly what I have, and I'm pleased. The sound could use a little more bottom end on it, and the playing is damned good, but not quite up to "Fillmore" standards. Great bands don't sound the same every night, and this recording reflects that. For the price, and with the knowledge of what is contained herein, I feel I got a hella deal. I'm more than satisfied.

Maybe the best recorded performance by the ABB 1.0 line-up. The sound is OK, not top notch but not terrible either. The mastering did the best given the status of the original recordings. However, the band is so hot the recording sizzles.

Opens with the band tuning to Duane's guitar, these guys just tuning up, especially Duane, sound better than most bands will ever sound! Very live, very good, love to hear Duane talk between tracks, fussing about the monitors, talking to the crowd, if you love the early Allmans like I do, you will love this! Don't worry about the sound quality, just be glad there is a tape of this!

The set list is great. But I prefer to listen to Lundlow's Garage 1970 than Boston Common 1971. I think Boston Common lacks the energy of Lundlow's. The band sounds tired to me which could just be the recording or mixing. Nothing I have ever heard comes anything close to the Live at Fillmore record. But you already know that if you are a fan of the band.

Great to hear a recording of the original Allman Brothers Band. Even though we've heard these songs before these recordings offer different takes on them. This document sounds fresh to my ears after 40 years. A must for ABB fans. A must for fans of unvarnished blues/rock.

Some of the best Allman Brothers music from the Duane-Barry Oakly era! The sound is amazingly clear for an old recording, or for any recording for that matter! Fits right in with the Filmore East album!

Outstanding musicianship! I just can't enough of the ABB! The sound quality is decent and it gives yet another dimension to this incredible world class band!
