I love Boston Globe crosswords but these larger volumes are printed on paper that is too soft for pencils. One has to press hard to see the writing and then it is visible on the puzzle on the next page. The book is also glue-bound rather than comb-bound, so the pages won't stay open easily.

I've always enjoyed the Globe Sunday puzzles...this is a hefty collection but the binding is such that the book can't be laid flat and thus the only realistic way of doing puzzles on the left-hand pages is to tear them out of the book. The collections with spiral binding are way better.
