Before the numerous coffee table books on the Boston Marathon and before the Duel in the Sun between Salazar and Beardsley, this '70s book came out and it is a pleasure to read. The tales of Kathy Switzer, Clarence DeMar, John Kelley, Wheelchair and Blind participants and much more are presented here. Falls gives a good account of the race up until 1979. Real Runners and Boston Marathon Afficionados will surely enjoy this book.
