Great peeler but not for kids,

My son is an avid cook and loves gadgets for Christmas. This is a fine strong peeler and sits nicely in the hand, however the beak end is so sharp it can be quite a hazard. I have been stabbed by the beak several times as i reach for the peeler in the drawer, and have to watch closely when the kids use it in case they too impale themselves during use. Not quite what I had in mind!

I've had this little bird peeler for several months now, and use it at least 5 times each week. It's works perfectly, and has remained sharp and functional. It's comfortably bulky and fits nicely in my hand, unlike the simple metal peelers that kind of bite into my index finger when I peel something tough. It peels paper-thin, so there's not much waste. I get a lot of compliments during informal soirees and guests bicker over who gets to peel the carrots. I loaned it to a neighbor who finally returned it after about 2 weeks, confessing she didn't want to part with it. It's crazy how much people like when they see it, and I admit I've grown attached and will probably name it someday. I don't know what expectations I had when I impulsively puchased this vegetable peeler, but this thing has clearly exceeded them.

Not only is this gadget sturdy and sharp, but it just looks so cute sitting on the shelf in my kitchen. For once, an impulse buy that I don't regret.
