Great for lefties or righties (and cute, too),

This review is from: Animal House Woodpecker Scissors (Kitchen)
My niece gave me these as a present because I own birds. And they're adorable scissors. But that's not why they're my favorite scissors -- ever.
I've never found a good-quality pair of scissors designed for lefties so I've spent decades with my thumb in the big circle and my fingers jammed through the small circle on right-handed scissors. But these are ambidextrous. The hole doesn't slant so lefties or righties can put their fingers through it comfortably and then you just push down on the lever with your thumb. Even when I've had a project that involved a lot of cutting these didn't make my hand tired. And did I mention that they're very cute, too?

Cute Novelty, but don't cut paper,

Seriously, I can't justify buying scissors, no matter how cute (and perfect for a bird lover), if they can't even cut newspaper cleanly. Spend money elsewhere.

I have used mine as my primary scissors for a year and have no problem with them. Still sharp too.
