SOUNDS AWESOME, right? It's a rhino, AND IT HOLDS BUTTER!

However, as I mentioned in the title, I am quite biased, as I love rhinoceri. Seriously. And I like butter a whole lot.

So, that being said, it's only 3 stars because a stick of butter from Costco doesn't fit without touching the top of the rhinoceros. I think it's a pretty standard size, but I haven't purchased a non-Costco stick of butter in a long time, so maybe your butter will fit nicely. The valley between the head & rump is too short, so it hits the butter.

That seems pretty stupid, hence the deduction of stars.

I almost didn't buy this because one reviewer said that a piece of Costco butter doesn't fit without touching the top. I did anyway, though, because my weirdo husband had gone to a yard sale and purchased a "butter dish" in the shape of a baby cradle (it turned out to actually be a vase from the bouquets you can buy at the hospital when someone has a baby). Anyway, I was worried it wasn't food-safe, but once he had a "fun" butter dish, he really didn't want something boring and plain.

We all (including our 3-year-old) think this is a pretty great butter dish. The rhino is a teensy bit awkward on his perch (he rocks a bit back and forth) and I think is within a hair's breadth of being too small, but for the money and the fun, it's totally worth it for us. We don't find it funny-looking except in the way it's SUPPOSED to be funny-looking.

Overall, a good purchase.

This butter dish is awesome! Great quality for the price and a stick of butter fit perfectly. Cute and fun!

This is one of the cutest things I've ever seen. I ordered the butter dish, the Turtle jam jar and the Swan gravy dish. They arrived at my office and all of the girls here gushed over this cute little Rhino. It's larger than I thought it would be - not too large but I was honestly expecting something tiny. I love it!

Not the best looking item in the Boston Warehouse Zooology series. Unless you just want the entire set, I'd recommend purchasing a plain white butter dish.
