I am now on my second pair of this particular shoe and I would have to say that I am just as pleased with the second pair as I was with the first. I have to admit that the price is what I find the most appealing. These shoes are very hard to distinguish from its more expensive peers and I believe that few individuals would be able to tell the difference. My only complaints are that they do not hold a polish quite as well as I would like and the sole wore out a little quicker than I had expected. These problems can be cured, however, with frequent polishing and a trip to the cobbler to have a rubber sole glued on for a minimal fee. Even without the addition of the rubber sole, my first pair lasted for about six months with daily use. These shoes are perfect for those on a budget, and will certainly get the job done in style.

While I liked the shoes, a problem occurred which greatly diminished my enthusiasm for the shoes. It appears that the eyelets are punched too close to the edge of the flap and after a couple of months they ripped through. I bought 2 pair of these shoes and this occurred on both pair. I've never have had this happen before to me.

What else can I say but that I wouldn't buy them again.

I'm forced to purchase shoes over the Internet given my shoe size and that the local (Caribbean) stores don't often have my size in the styles I like. I'm partial to Bostonian and Giorgio Brutini as they seem to have standard styles. This Bostonian is the first shoe I've purchased unseen and I am pleased with the fit and the look. The shoe is also stitched at the bottom and that's very important to me. As I've only had the shoes for a month, it's a little early for me to discuss longevity and will update on this characteristic if durability becomes a factor in the future

I wear these to work (office job) and immediately the black paint (ink) started wearing off on the soles, exposing the light colored tan underneath...looks terrible. Did not get a chance to return...very dissapointed!!!

I took a chance ordering dress shoes from Amazon for the first time. Sizing is the concern for Internet shoe sales, and will continue to be.

The quality of the stitching and leather on this shoes is very high. They look as nice in real life as they do on the website. Excellent shoes.

I previously owned a pair of Bostonian oxfords and enjoyed them so much I've gone back for seconds! These shoes however, fit my wide feet (11XW) perfectly. They arrived quickly and in excellent condition. The price can't be beat for a quality pair of dress shoes.

I did not read anywhere in this information that the Akron had a rubber sole. After receiving it today, and feeling somewhat cheated, I went to decriptions on other sites where that is explained. I have to rationalize that for the price, I got a good shoe, but I have bought Bostonians for many years and have always had leather soles. This came as quite a disappointing surprize.

I did order them from Papa Shoes and was very pleased with them. Ordered on the 6th and just received on the 11th. Cannot beat that.

I spend a lot of time on my feet and have worn some other shoes out in less than two months. Have had at least 7 pair of the Akrons and will continue to purchase them. The factory soles are thinner than the replacements that I get but they are very comfortable. I've had some that I've re-soled 3 or 4 times. With a little care the tops still look good after daily use for a couple of years.

I will be back for more.

These shoes are great. It only took a day or two to break them in. They look and feel great. I highly suggest them to anyone!

A very elegant pair of shoes at a reasonable price. What really amazed me was the intact condition upon receipt. I must say that this is the first time I buy shoes online. No minor scars or damage...better than buying at the shoe store! The shoes come wrapped in protective material inside a very nice box, conserving the fresh leather smell and shine.
