You can do exercises such as bicep curls or overhead presses while standing on the Bosu Ball so you work core muscles at the same time.

I am a personal trainer in a club and have a private practice. If you would like to use your bosu ball with both sides up, (therefore is the name, BOSU) then you need the type of bosu with a solid smooth rubber covered plastic bottom (such as this one!) to provide a surface with a long lasting firm and reliable grip. The ones that comes with the little rubber feet are not designed for such multi purpose. Also the rubber feet tend to break off making the hard plastic bottom extremely slippery almost on any surface. Replacing the broken rubber feet is a challenging project. With all that said, be aware that many bosu balls come with a disclaimer that the ball is patented with only the inflated side up.

I'm a fitness instructor and cannot tolerate substandard products for workouts. This is the real BOSU - if you are looking for quality and long-term use, this is the one to get.

Great product for adding some variety to exercises and as a stand alone trainer. Use it for squats, single leg squats, push ups, planks you name it. Also great to just stand on switching legs while watching a movie. The instability really adds a surprising amount of extra work. Already seems to be helping my balance. As an aging jock as well as an outdoor guide and fitness trainer one thing I really notice in many clients is a terrible sense of balance even in those who are fit. I would recommend this to anyone to help with balance and core strength.

Only wish I could afford two or more. The exercise possibilities are endless.

This product is a great one. The seller, however, is a very different story. My advice: buy the product from someone else.

Here is my experience: My bosu ball arrived at my home without the following items: manual, instructional dvd, and plug (which allows the bosu ball to retain air -- the product simply does not work without the plug, so this is a big deal).

I sent three emails to the seller before i heard back from them. Two weeks passed.

I finally heard from the seller. They said they could do nothing until I supplied the products's serial number (Why? Just send me the missing items that I paid for but never received, right?)

Well, I supplied the serial number but have still heard nothing from the seller.

There must be other vendors who can ship bosu balls with all of the necessary parts. i suggest you try them.

UPDATE (Three weeks later): Despite several calls and emails to the seller, I still have not received all of the missing pieces. This seller is a bad actor. I recommend Amazon delist them.

I have been incorporating Bosu's into my fitness training for years, utilizing the top and bottom for various movements. I love the versatility of the product and the regular Bosu is pretty durable. But, after training on the Pro version, the difference is measurable - this takes a lot of abuse and it is just a much higher quality. The other benefit is that this has a thick rubberized platform without any rubber stoppers/feet like the regular version - this makes it much more conducive to using the bottom platform for squats and other balance movements.

I love using this product. Using this product brings more stabilizer muscles into every movement. It is also excellent for core strengthening, and improving balance. A little pricey, but built like a tank. Just wish the included video had a little more variety. Several better videos are available on Amazon.

I've been very pleased with the Bosu pro balance trainer... I've used the Bosu for training for the past two years at my gym and recently started training at home instead. This was a very useful addition to the equipment I had at home... we use it every workout session. Good quality - solid construction. Seems to be same quality as the Bosu I used at my gym.
The directions to inflate the Bosu were very simple and easy to follow. From the time you open the box, you could easily be working out within 15 minutes!

I use my bosu for soccer specific training, it's great to be able to work out at home in a small space. For balance, strength, and agility training it is a great device. I was using this in my gym and now save a lot of money by using it at home instead. I think this pro version is durable enough to last many years.

One warning, do not over inflate! I overinflated mine one day and while I was using it the ball worked it's way out of the base ring. It was not a big deal however because you can unscrew the ring and re-fit the ball and get back to normal.
