Thnak you Melissa and Harry for Sharing your story,
By
This review is from: Both Sides of Recovery (Paperback)
I appreciated the honesty and sharing of both the authors as they moved through recovery through the 12 Steps. Having just started my own journey of recovery in Codependents Anon I particularly appreciated Harry's section as I could identify with so many of his behaviors and attempts to make an unhealthy relationship work without the tools to start the real healing process. My husband of 30 years has battled with Alcohol, food, exercise, and work addictions while having suffered off and on with depression and mild manic episodes much of our lives. He still has not embraced a recovery program. With Coda I am starting to feel that at least I can work toward having healthy relationships with myself as a start and give my husband the opportunity to find his own path. I am finally begining to feel that if our relationship is not on a healing jouney, that I can let go. Thank you for putting your journey to words so that we might have hope.

A "must-have" for couples in this situation. I am the "Bill" in the book, and Harry and Melissa's story is 100% accurate. I still use this book for working with guys who are in the middle of living with an alcoholic.
