5.0 out of 5 stars You Don't Like Me? I Don't Like You!!!, November 10, 2002
This review is from: Both Worlds 69 (Audio CD)
Gangsta Boo is the hardest female rapper since Lady of Rage's supreme reign. Gangsta Boo enhances every single song she appears on. Being completely honest, I have never heard her spit some wack garbage...EVER. Gangsta Boo's flow is that straight butter. She has a fluency and acuity on the mic that few female rappers possess. Her aggressiveness and in-yo-face attidude catapults her above the average female rapper. Her voice and cadence is untouchable. As well as being one of the best female rappers she was definitely the most gangsterist on the Hypnotize Minds label ( when they were at their prime)with probably the exception of T-Rock.

Gangsta Boo also has a lot of confidence. In a clique full of hard nosed men and to be the only female repping that hardcore in the group, she gotta be bringing the funk. And the funk is serious. The first song `Hard Not To Kill" sets the tone for what is a great album. Placed over a hard hitting beat Gangsta Boo warns all oncomers about what time it is. She carries this toughness over to "Mask 2 My Face" which has an incredible beat. Next is Love Don't Live, which has a sample of "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" by Miles Gregory. This has to be one of the best songs on the album. Gangsta Boo reflects on past relationships and feels abandoned and out of sync. The sample is used oh so beautifully and doesn't disgrace a classic. Nearly every song is a classic. Can I Get Paid has Lady Boo tackling the issue of stripping and how to get more money off of it. It utilizes a simple but effective chant "get yo broke a$$ out the club if you aint gone tip!!!" and makes for a memorable song. M-Town Representatives features the whole Hypnotize Camp Posse and is a great song. Other tight songs include I Thought U Knew, Same Block, Wut U Want, Good & Hi.

The best song on the album however is "I Faked It Last Night". This song features DJ Paul and sports one of the best Hypnotize Minds beats ever. Gangsta Boo talks about how a man talks all that junk about tearing it up and killing it when in reality he didn't do nothing special. DJ Paul retaliates with a menacing verse defending the men. He didn't see her complaining when it was going down and even if he didn't do nothing he still got his. If ya know what I mean....

Overall this is a great album; one of Hypnotize Mindz best. Gangsta Boo has no problem lyrically smacking somebody upside the head and to add to that the beats are off the chain. I would recommend this album to any fan of hip hop music. 5 Star classic!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bangin', August 31, 2001
This review is from: Both Worlds 69 (Audio CD)
...When you have a hard day at work, you will want Gangsta Boo to say to you, "They don't love me? I don't love them! They say ...me. I say ...them!" I picked this up three days ago and I play it on my way to and from work every day. Beats are great, Boo has a sense of humor, and every time I listen I crack up and groove to something new. Just get it. Way to go, Boo.
