Unfortunately the newer water bottles that are made with significantly less plastic don't work with these. If you're planning on using these with a specific water bottle, they'll pretty well.

I chose these instead of the type without any kind of tab on the ring that goes around the bottle top. The tab really is necessary, I like these.
