This so far one of the best remixed cd's this year, Fresh new elements that you don't hear that much in remixes these days. Well crafted. All mixed-in sounds work well with vocals, not like some songs that you hear the music doesn't go with the vocals at all. I love the aggressive harsh sounds used in in tracks 2 and 3 . This a must have for all Depeche mode and Gahan fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars For Depeche Mode Fans!, October 11, 2005

Ok I love Depeche Mode but I am kind of tired of their traditional sound so I wasn't a big fan of Dave Gahan's solo album either as it sounded quite like Depeche Mode. When Depeche Mode release an album I am usually buying up their singles before the actual album as the remixes are what it's all about. I got this single as it has some great remixes on here but some also some great remixers. I love Tomcraft and I like what they did to Bottle Living. It's got the big beat electronic sound and with Dave's vocals the remix works excellently. Better than the original and great to dance to. The Machine Head remix of Bottle Living keeps in the tradition of the Tomcraft Remix with the big beats and all and has a more harder rock sound to it with lots of bass. I really like the T. Raumschmiere Full Length Vocal Mix as I like anything T. Raumschmiere does and his remixes are great. His remix of Goldfrapp's Train is excellent as well similar in sound which sounds like tugging and chugging beats which could be heard in his original work as well. Up next is the Alexander Kowalski remix of Hidden Houses an awesome 4 to the floor dance remix of that song. Awesome to dance to and better than the original version of the song. It's perfect for a club setting. Lastly Hold On (Jeremy Wheatly Radio Mix) is a mellow downbeat track for winding down. I actually like this track and can listen to this remix very much. Overall worth owning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Third release from Paper Monsters., January 6, 2004

This review is from: Bottle Living / Hidden Houses / Hold on (Audio CD)
This is the 3rd release from the Dave Gahan solo release that has been less successful than hoped. All three singles didn't live up to the Depeche Mode chart success but that doesn't mean that they aren't good. This single came in at only the Dance sales chart and this time no club. The single for "Bottle Living" comes with 3 remixes ,the album version and 2 more songs. The reason for the 5 stars is the Tomcraft Vocal mix(7:47)--it is a very aggressive house /electro mix in which the song and the vocals are boosted up to more energy than the other mixes here. TREMENDOUS!!! Dave sounds incredible in this mix- one of the best dance mixes done for one of his songs. The Machine Head Lyric Mix(6:04) and the T. Raumschmiere Full Length Vocal Mix(5:19) are very good as well but are like the original version very moody and dark. "Hidden House"with the Alexander Kowalski Mix(5:15),which is very good house mix and "Hold On" Radio Mix ( 3:52) round out the rest of the cd. A great cd single of mixes for an overlooked cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dave Gahan third single, November 14, 2003

Dave Gahan's third single from his paper monsters album is good. The bottle of living mixes are really electrifying especially the first mix of bottle of living which has a club feel to it. The hidden house remix was alright. It would have been better if they would have had a remix for hold on. Overall it is a CD single for any fan that likes good music.
