3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, some good points but left me confused
This book has some great stories which come out as analogies for the points the Author makes in his work, which I am not sure what he is called in for on the projects he cites. The book is full of diagrams and models he uses, some of which I found interesting but in the end it seems overdone and complicated. The overall model used as the basis of his approach, and...

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential reading for success, January 10, 2008
This review is from: Bottom Line Results: The 10 Strategies for Achievement (Hardcover)
This book is indispensable for anybody wanting to get ahead in life. Numerous lessons and insights for success are presented in an easy to understand format. You will enjoy this book whether you're a Fortune 500 CEO or starting a corner lemon-aide stand. I run a small, independent-contracting company and was able to use many of these lessons, both on a macro-level (setting long-term company goals) and on a micro-level (setting and achieving short term, day-to-day goals). Without this book, I would not be nearly as successful as I have been. I would highly recommend this book to anybody.

This book has some great stories which come out as analogies for the points the Author makes in his work, which I am not sure what he is called in for on the projects he cites. The book is full of diagrams and models he uses, some of which I found interesting but in the end it seems overdone and complicated. The overall model used as the basis of his approach, and apparently it works for him, I found to be way complicated and back to my corporate days, he'd lose the audience half way through. I dont think it an awful book by any means but I ended up confused most of the time about the points he was making other than dont be too far right or left and stay in bounds. Some great points in the book and some that left me wondering.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not your typical self-help book, July 4, 2008
This review is from: Bottom Line Results: The 10 Strategies for Achievement (Hardcover)
I find that self-help books typically come off somewhat preachy and gimmicky. That's not the case with this one. Bell uses interesting life experiences to demonstrate that solutions are generally found in the middle ground, not in the extremes which are the domain of fanatics. It's a useful book you can enjoy and learn from without the sense you're joining a cult following.

Such interesting stories and insight. It makes you think of things in a different way. Most people know these stories, but often pass by them without a second thought to a lesson that could be learned. Mr. Bell's experience and observations make this opportunity available. This book is not only for business, but for personal instruction as well.
