4.0 out of 5 stars Solid follow up to Second Round's on Me April 6, 2012
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
So I downloaded the new Obie Trice album this week and, as per usual, it did not disappoint. Although he has not released any new albums in six years (unless you want to count Special Reserve," which I don't) Trice still sounds sharp, delivering laid back flows and old-school storytelling that I find to be sorely lacking in the current hip hop scene. The production is top notch, with Dr. Dre contributing a beat, and Eminem delivering a spectacular verse on "Richard." The album definitely grows on you the more you listen to it. If you're already a fan of Obie Trice then you should know what to expect from him by now; and if you are new to Obie Trice then I recommend you first purchase/download "Cheers," to entice you to look further.

5.0 out of 5 stars Real Name No Gimmicks! April 5, 2012
By Rogelio
Format:Audio CD
O.Trice is back! What more is there to say? Back with dope beats and lyrics. Also Dr.Dre and Eminem helped with some of the production on this album. Kinda like old times. I haven't felt this way about Obie since "Cheers".

5.0 out of 5 stars Obie Trice no gimics! June 5, 2013
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
Ever since D12 I have been enjoying Obie's music. I spent my teenage years in Detroit and Obie reminds me of what it was like living in the D. Obie tells us the story of his life in his music. From his youth to his rap career are all detailed in song after song. The production is solid, even when not great. The magic is all in his lyrics and delivery.

3.0 out of 5 stars a no frills effort but consistent... August 14, 2012
By Dutch
Format:Audio CD
This is a no frills effort that delivers nothing special, nor anything impressive. If you are naturally an Obie Trice fan, then you may think differently. The production is solid, delivering a nice crisp sound that complements Obie Trice adequately. There are a couple of banging beats while the majority is nothing too special, nor different. Obie Trice performs nicely, delivering his usual style consistent with his previous releases. He is not too complicated lyrically but his flow is quite on point and makes up for it. I do not fully understand why a few tracks have his voice altered, either slower or faster; I did find this a little annoying. The album could have been more drinking oriented or more epic, given the title though.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed Obie fan August 12, 2012
Format:MP3 Music
What happened since "Second Rounds On Me"?? Not the same material I love from Obie. Will check for his next release. Hopefully, he'll revert back to that old Obie.
