4.0 out of 5 stars Nicki Steals The Show: March 29, 2011
You know, Nicki Minaj WITHOUT EVEN TRYING shows more personality in 30 seconds than most rappers generally show in an entire album. It's as simple as that. Nicki steals the whole damn show here -- without Nicki, this ho-hum "safe" record is a "good enough" effort that, without Nicki, is instantly forgettable. WITH Nicki, however, the track is classic.

Nicki is a woman of AT LEAST a thousand voices, and all of them are AWESOME. She switches between baby-talk, rage, coy-seductive, cartoonish-drunk (and god-knows-how-many-others) while switching tempo, cadence, beats-per-measure AND voice on the DIME. She's awesome. Somebody needs to sign this girl to a VERY long-term deal, and get her over to Dre. If she ever gets together with the Black Eyed Peas for a song or two, you can forget about anybody else getting to the top of Billboard's Hot 100 for a good long while. Until that happens, Billboard should set aside the real estate up there at #1, and label it: RESERVED FOR NICKI.

Somewhere, deep within this girl, is a rap album of absolute brilliance -- I can't even imagine how good it might be. Nicki is so good that her stuff sounds as if it might be done in a genre that doesn't actually exist.

Rappers, beware: inviting Nicki to do a "guest verse" on your record is a MISTAKE...! She'll take 16 bars (as she does here), steal the whole dang show, and leave you badly forgotten in the background.

4 stars -- 5 of which come from Nicki.

Do the math for yourself, Trey.

Don't know why, just love this song. Not typically the style I listen to, and Nicki Minaj is out there, but her part in this is good.
