This book is bad! I had to read this for an honors English class and it was absolutely unbearable. Although I genuinely appreciated Maupassant's other works we read in class, "The Necklace." and "A Piece of String," This one was nearly unreadable, with its excruciating detail and huge cast of characters. While we were assigned it to read in this class, not one of us understood it, and after we could not find it on Sparknotes, most of us, including myself finally found a summary on Wikipedia. This several-paragraph summary included every relevant detail of the 30 page story. Everything else in the book was just details describing the way the snow falls or something like that.But if you have time to read just one sentence about this book I highly recommend the last sentence of Boule de Suif's Wikipedia page, "As the coach travels on into the night, Cornudet starts whistling the Marseillaise while Boule de Suif seethes with rage against the other passengers, and finally weeps for her lost dignity." Yep, this is one wretched book.

The product arrived in a timely manner and in good condition. I will remember this vendor for my future purchases.
