5.0 out of 5 stars FAB!
I need those earplugs because my husband snores like theres no tomorrow. I have tried everything, I end up pulling them out because they would hurt. Then I tried Quies and it was amazing, i didn't feel like I had anything in my ear, and it blocked the noise! I use them ever since. I would use a pair of wax for 4 days then throw them away. It works for me like magic.

They are OK, but not perfect. I have used the Flents ear stopples in the past, but decided to try these based on the reviews. I am not a fan. First, they come with a cotton coating, which is a pain-in-the-stern to remove. But my biggest complaint is that they are so small! I was very concerned about getting one in my ear canal and not being able to get it out. I have...

5.0 out of 5 stars The best earplugs bar none, May 18, 2010

I bought these earplugs from Caswell-Massey in Manhattan for years. I bought them by the case. Buying thru Amazon, now, is so much easier for me.

There are no better earplugs on the market. Period. I'm down to my last box, so I'm reusing them for a week at a time; it's just laziness that has kept me from calling NYC. ;-) So delighted to discover this Amazon listing.

Friends come over and squeal when they see my well-handled earplugs sitting on the counter -- they get dirty with hand-handling or if they fall on the floor -- but I don't care. If I want to, I can hear the noise around me with the plugs in. I have extremely sensitive hearing, and find it difficult to do concentrated work, especially work I dont want to do, without a buffer. These provide that. On the other hand, you can squish them further into your ear canal for a real seal, and you won't hear a thing.

I think they work on the same principle as wax on top of homemade jam.

The absolute best. And I tried every other earplug on the market, and occasionally see if any new ones can best them. They can't. I've used them for 25 years.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best ear plugs., September 11, 2008

These really are the best ear plugs. We use them all of the time. They do not hurt your ear or build up with wax. They are not suggested for re-use, but if you keep them clean you can re-use a few times. Afterall, the foam ones are designed to be used over a long period of time, why not also these wax earplugs. If you think all wax ear plugs are the same, you would be wrong. My only compliant is I wish they were available at more stores. Also, they are a bit expensive.

4.0 out of 5 stars Takes a While, July 19, 2011

When I first tried these earplugs out, I was very disappointed. The sound I wanted to escape from still came through. Like another reviewer here, I also got scared I could not get them out, they were so small for my ear. I stopped using them for a week or so and tried still others, even though I thought I had tried all the earplugs that are sold. I tried some dubious wax ones that were much larger and less comfortable inside the ear when -- presto! I discovered how I'd been using Quies all wrong at the start!

Here's what I do now: I mold them into tiny missiles that can be inserted down my ear canal. What's left of the tail-end, I mash against the opening of the ear in order to full cover it. Like magic, the sound drifts away and when I wake, yes, there's a little picking I have to do to remove them, though no more fear, and I toss them out.

They're very comfortable. The cotton that protects them is a bit of a pain to remove since it sticks to the wax.

Out of the very many earplugs I have tried, I feel the Quies are the best and the most comfortable for a good night's sleep.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the Ohropax plugs but these do the job, January 1, 2011

The amount of wax given with each earplug is fairly small. The wax in these is a bit harder than with alternative products however so they dont melt or get stuck in your ear canal. Though since there is a small quantity of wax it makes it a bit harder to get a solid seal and still have the plug in a position where you are 100% confident some wax will not get stuck in the ear. The Ohropax plugs give a much larger quantity of wax which makes it easier to get a better seal and makes you feel more comfortable that they will not get stuck in the ear canal during the night.
At the same price I would choose the Ohropax plugs but given these earplugs are much cheaper these are probably the better buy overall. If you wear foam rubber plugs frequently while sleeping these wax plugs by contrast are much easier on your ear and still provide decent, though not as good, noise protection.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's all about the malleability, baby, July 29, 2010

Boules Quies are great for blocking out the sounds that can wake you up at night. Rattling air conditioners, prancing housemates, or loud neighbors living above you, these earplugs will help bring the noise levels down and get you a better sleep.

They will also help quiet the sounds of a loud sleeping partner, though not all snoring may be masked.

But they probably won't be powerful enough to filter out high-decibel urban and suburban sounds, such as a car alarm, police siren, or a power lawnmower.

They are easy to insert--much easier for me than the foam ones, and once inside they are very malleable, since they are made of wax. This is nice because then I can wear them fairly loosely at night when there's no noise, and in the morning, after the squawk of the first Blue Jay, tighten them up and go back to sleep.

I also carry a pack of these when I'm traveling by air. They will eliminate most of the engine hum, and can transform a symphony of screaming babies into light background noise. (When the flight attendant comes by with your drink order, you can pull out one of the plugs half-way, or use your lip-reading skills).

I use these earplugs every night and have been using for a couple of years now. They are great! I never had any allergy or problem with them. They are made of natural wax, which, I guess, it helps. Thanks to them I have better nights of sleep!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best earplugs, hands down, December 4, 2010
This review is from: Boules Quies Protection Auditive Earplugs, Made in France (Health and Beauty)
I'm very sensitive to any environmental noises when I'm trying to fall asleep, so I've come to rely on earplugs. I've become quite the earplug connoisseur, actually. I have tried nearly every brand and kind of earplug out there and been very dissatisfied. Foam earplugs often hurt my ears and they allow too much noise seepage. Other wax earplugs just didn't cut it. The best for comfort and amount of sound blocked are the Quies. I've used them faithfully for years.

The Quies earplugs fit perfectly and comfortably in my ears and they block out so much noise, it's heavenly. They helped me maintain my sanity while dating snorers and they have also worked great at concerts and loud events. If you haven't tried Quies, you don't know what you're missing!

First, they come with a cotton coating, which is a pain-in-the-stern to remove. But my biggest complaint is that they are so small! I was very concerned about getting one in my ear canal and not being able to get it out. I have found that I have to combine 3 of them to have a mass large enough to cover and seal my ear. Using 6 at a time is not very cost effective. Probably going back to the Flents.

5.0 out of 5 stars Least uncomfortable earplugs, June 6, 2011

My wife snores and wakes me up at night to the point that I have to sleep in another room. But that doesn't bode too well for relationships. Thus, I've been trying all types earplugs. I even went to an audiologist to get custom made earplugs. I don't recommend the custom made if you're using it for sleeping b/c the earplugs will hurt your ears when you sleep on your side. If it's for blocking noises when you're working, then it's ok to pay the extra money (but in 20/20 hindsight and now knowing the Quies, I wouldn't pay the extra money). I've tried various earplugs (from foam, to wax, to silicone) and all of them hurt my ears that during the middle of the night I have to take them off. Recently Amazon had a deal on the Boules Quies earplugs, and even though it was a little more expensive, I bought them to try out. Needless to say, money well spent and I will never go back to any other types of earplugs. These Quies earplugs conform to your ear canals b/c they're made out of soft wax (I've tried other waxed earplugs and they don't conform as well as these Quies). When I took them out in the morning, I noticed the shapes were the same as my custom earplugs. I guess b/c they melt and conform to the ear canals, they're not as uncomfortable as other earplugs and adjust when you toss and turn at night. All earplugs, in my opinion, are uncomfortable. I would not use them if I don't have to. However, these Quies earplugs are the least uncomfortable that I can tolerate them for the night and get some decent sleep with my snoring spouse. Thus, if you have a snoring spouse/partner, I highly recommend these Quies. Your money will be well spent. (Just wait for the next deal from Amazon and stock them up).
