Send in the Clowns,

This review is from: Bounce Back! The New Play Ethic at Work (Hardcover)
Lynn Grasberg's "Bounce Back: The New Play Ethic at Work" makes a serious case for seeking out retraining as a corporate clown. Lynn, who has been clowning at the corporate level for years, has finally put her experiences, theories, and techniques on paper to the benefit of all concerned. The book's premise is simple: Today's corporate climate of massive downsizing, unthinkable bankruptcies, and unabashed greed has led to an epidemic of worry, our society's most prevalent advanced pathological coping skill. This worry, of course, does nothing but make us less effective when we need to be more effective. Lynn's answer? A clown's pocket full of techniques proven over years of teaching play as a management tool. "Bounce Back" is laid out in clearly defined sections stating the problem, the solution, the techniques and their application. Nicely executed graphics give the book visual interest and, at the same time, act as organizational elements. This book is fun to read. I liked "Bounce Back!: The New Play Ethic at Work." I recommend it to anyone who finds worry interferring with life on the job or at home. It has value both as a management tool and as a vehicle for personal growth. The book can become a habit. You may find yourself bouncing back to it every time worry sneaks into your life.
