Frequently Asked Questions

How does Bounce soften?
During the tumbling of the dryer, fabric-care agents are transferred from the Bounce dryer sheet to the surface of fabrics. These fabric-care agents have a lubricating effect on the fabric, causing fibers to feel smooth.

How does Bounce control static?
If your socks cling to each other and snap at you when you try to pull them apart, that’s static cling. Static is known to build up in the dryer when fabric fibers, especially synthetics, rub together, generating friction. As a result of the friction between fibers, electrons are transferred across surfaces resulting in a static charge and that annoying high-pitched sound when you touch them.

Bounce works in the dryer, where static happens. Softening ingredients are transferred from the Bounce dryer sheet to the surface of fabrics via heat and physical contact during the tumbling of the dryer. Lubricating fiber surfaces with Bounce fabric softener helps prevent the friction that leads to static charge.

Can I reuse my Bounce sheet?
Why would you? In the U.S., the average cost of our dryer sheets is just pennies per sheet, so you can afford to use a new one every time. Plus, you’ll get better softening and static control when using a new sheet in every dryer load, especially since most of the fabric conditioner is used up in one use. A reused sheet will not provide nearly the same great benefit as a new one.

How do I use Bounce with small loads, such as one blouse?
Bounce was developed to use in a full load of damp fabrics. Tossing a Bounce sheet in the dryer with only one wet or dry garment can lead to staining. If you’ve washed your blouse and want to dry it with a Bounce sheet, we suggest adding a damp bath towel to the load.

How do fabric-conditioner stains occur?
Too heavy concentration of fabric conditioner—single items or small loads need help distributing the fabric conditioner. Try adding a damp bath towel or other heavyweight fabric to help even it out.

Great results come in many scents.

Fabrics that attract fabric conditioner, like certain polyesters, are prone to spotting. Check your garment-care tag; it might recommend “no fabric softener.” If you have fabric-conditioner spotting on a garment, it might be prone to spotting.

Dry loads—Bounce was designed to be used with damp fabrics. Fabric-conditioner stains are usually temporary. To remove them, rub wet fabric/stained area with a bar of soap, then rewash the garment in warm water.

Is Bounce safe for my dryer?
You’re in luck! Yes, based on our testing, Bounce is safe for all major brands of North American dryers. The following manufacturers have approved Bounce for use in their dryers: Amana, GE, Inglis, Whirlpool, Kenmore, and Maytag.

Can I use Bounce in my washer?
No. Bounce was developed for use in the dryer.

Can I use Bounce on my baby’s clothes?
Bounce shouldn’t be used on children’s sleepwear or other garments labeled as flame-resistant because it might reduce flame resistance.

I’m sensitive to perfume. Can I still use Bounce?
Try Bounce Free & Sensitive. It’s dermatologist-tested and mild on skin.

Is Bounce safe for use on white clothes?
Yes, all Bounce products are safe for use on white clothing.

I was unsure of the smell when I bought these since there were no reviews. I have always trusted the Bounce name and have tried other scents in the past. I am so glad I decided to order these without knowing what they smelled like. They came wrapped in plastic so when you open the box you do not have to worry about the scent being exposed to other items or losing the scent in transit. The scent is very fresh and not heavy at all. I do not like my laundry to smell like flowers but rather have a refreshing scent to them. Also each sheet I have used has made all the laundry static free. One thing I like to do is after washing bedding and placing it in a garment bag stick a fabric softener sheet in there until I use the bedding again. I did so with these and after having a bedding set stored in a bag for a few months I placed the bedding on the bag and it smelled so fresh! A lot of times you will have to rewash the bedding to get a fresh scent but not if you store a sheet with it when storing. I was so please I bought a second set for when I run out. I think these will be the sheets I use from now one. Very fresh and clean!

Bounce Fabric Softener Sheets are great and they are not just for laundry. You can use them in your gym bag or dresser drawers. I place a few in the bottom of hampers and trash bins before I put the bag in. The smell isn't strong but it does last and the sheets are just convenient.

I was finding that all the used sheets were getting in the way and I was feeling bad about just throwing them in the bin so I started to use them as little fire starters for the BBQ and fireplace.

Amazon does a pretty good job of packing these things up but as soon as you open the box you may be a little overwhelmed with the smell but that dissipates pretty quick. I would recommend placing one of the boxes in an airtight bag or container. Its not like the smell is just going to go away but it will help things out a bit. Now I go a little crazy with the little sheets so 240 count you get maybe a bit much for you but trust me its well worth it.

I've used Bounce for some time. The smell is fresh and long lasting. It cuts way down on the static cling. They're just dryer sheets -- I can't get all poetic over it. But, I can sure tell you that I noticed a huge difference when I ran out and couldn't make it to the store before doing several loads of wash. Towels were stiffer and not as fluffy, jeans were scratchy and blankets were full of static.

The Amazon price isn't bad, and with free delivery, this certainly beats a drive to the store!

These dryer sheets smell great! I use them not only for my laundry, but I also place them in strategic locations in my closet to help my clothes retain that "fresh" scent. At around $10 for two 120-count boxes, this is a better deal than buying them at Wal-Mart.

Pros:
Bounce is a product that seems synonymous with dryer sheets. It truly is the best I have ever tried. I have been using it all my life. It makes the clothes smell very nice. Just using detergent does not really work. There is no harm to the clothes or the dryer. It is additional money, but it makes the clothes fresher and nicer. I highly recommend this product for those of you who have never used it before. Also, Bounce makes a great air freshener if you put it in front of the fan. It is quick, easy, and dirt cheap way to make the room smell much, much nicer. Overall, you have to try it out to like it.

Cons:
There is a lot of fleecy stuff that builds up in the dryer. When Bounce is not used, then that doesn't happen, but it is well worth the trouble. Bounce makes your clothes smell so much better, otherwise they just smell moldy.

I use bounce sheets for static control. There's something about them that helps reduce static on all sorts of things. Particularly when you store powdered or finely ground stuff in plastic containers. Static makes particles cling to plastic. Very annoying. Rubbing the plastic with a bounce cloth helps a lot.

I also tried using these on chairs made from abs plastic to see if dog hair would quit clinging to them. It doesn't seem to be working.

I love these dryer sheets. The scent lingers in our bed for days, which is a must in my opinion. Good amount for the money too.
