Enjoy Softness and Static Protection Without Perfumes or Dyes

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Bounce soften?
During the tumbling of the dryer, fabric-care agents are transferred from the Bounce dryer sheet to the surface of fabrics. These fabric-care agents have a lubricating effect on the fabric, causing fibers to feel smooth.

How does Bounce control static?
If your socks cling to each other and snap at you when you try to pull them apart, that’s static cling. Static is known to build up in the dryer when fabric fibers, especially synthetics, rub together, generating friction. As a result of the friction between fibers, electrons are transferred across surfaces resulting in a static charge and that annoying high-pitched sound when you touch them.

Bounce works in the dryer, where static happens. Softening ingredients are transferred from the Bounce dryer sheet to the surface of fabrics via heat and physical contact during the tumbling of the dryer. Lubricating fiber surfaces with Bounce fabric softener helps prevent the friction that leads to static charge.

Can I reuse my Bounce sheet?
Why would you? In the U.S., the average cost of our dryer sheets is just pennies per sheet, so you can afford to use a new one every time. Plus, you’ll get better softening and static control when using a new sheet in every dryer load, especially since most of the fabric conditioner is used up in one use. A reused sheet will not provide nearly the same great benefit as a new one.

How do I use Bounce with small loads, such as one blouse?
Bounce was developed to use in a full load of damp fabrics. Tossing a Bounce sheet in the dryer with only one wet or dry garment can lead to staining. If you’ve washed your blouse and want to dry it with a Bounce sheet, we suggest adding a damp bath towel to the load.

Get a great clean, without perfumes and dyes.

How do fabric-conditioner stains occur?
Too heavy concentration of fabric conditioner—single items or small loads need help distributing the fabric conditioner. Try adding a damp bath towel or other heavyweight fabric to help even it out.

Fabrics that attract fabric conditioner, like certain polyesters, are prone to spotting. Check your garment-care tag; it might recommend "no fabric softener." If you have fabric-conditioner spotting on a garment, it might be prone to spotting.

Dry loads: Bounce was designed to be used with damp fabrics. Fabric-conditioner stains are usually temporary. To remove them, rub wet fabric/stained area with a bar of soap, then rewash the garment in warm water.

Is Bounce safe for my dryer?
You’re in luck! Yes, based on our testing, Bounce is safe for all major brands of North American dryers. The following manufacturers have approved Bounce for use in their dryers: Amana, GE, Inglis, Whirlpool, Kenmore, and Maytag.

Can I use Bounce in my washer?
No. Bounce was developed for use in the dryer.

Can I use Bounce on my baby's clothes?
Bounce shouldn’t be used on children’s sleepwear or other garments labeled as flame-resistant because it might reduce flame resistance.

I’m sensitive to perfume. Can I still use Bounce?
Try Bounce Free & Sensitive. It's dermatologist-tested and mild on skin.

Is Bounce safe for use on white clothes?
Yes, all Bounce products are safe for use on white clothing.

I use these in every dryer-load and I have no complaints. But you might want to know another use I put one sheet to a several months ago.

I have a Mazda MX-5 with a PRHT - a power-retractable hard top. Very nice. But when it was closed, it would pop and crack and make other annoying sounds. Winter, Summer - it didn't matter. I finally determined it was the rubber seal/gasket sticking and rubbing against the metal of the car body. I tried cleaning, silicone oil on the rubber - lots of things, but the cracking/popping came back in a day or two.

So, knowing they contain a low-temperature wax, I tried the unscented "Free" Bounce dryer sheet. I cleaned all the rubber parts (again) and took one sheet and rubbed it thoroughly on every rubber and metal part where they touched. I was amazed to find that the squeaks, pops, cracks, etc. were completely gone. If it only lasted a week, I'd have been satisfied, but it's been 8 months and three seasons (including this cold fall/winter) and not a single sound is coming from the top.

I apologize for this off-use review, but perhaps my discovery will lead you to a similar finding for other rubber/metal contact noises of your own.

I was really happy to find these sheets, because I cannot stand perfume scented fabric sheets. As another reviewer mentioned, these sheets still have a scent to them, even though they are free of perfumes. However, it is SO MUCH BETTER than any of those putrid perfume scented fabric sheets on the market.

The only reason I use a fabric softener sheet at all is for anti-static. I don't really care if my clothes are soft. Another reviewer said that their clothes didn't get as soft as they liked. I can't really comment on that because I don't care about soft clothes. In fact, I kind of like them crisp feeling, like they were hung out on a line. So, I don't really care if these soften my fabrics or not. But what I do care about it not getting shocked by my dryer or clothes due to static.

There are two things I needed: 1. Anti-static sheets so I don't get shocked. 2. Unscented fabric sheets. These do the trick.

I wish there was less of a scent, but it's not bad, and it is a world of difference from the foul-smelling, artificial, overly perfumed scented sheets.

This product absolutely NOT scent free. Scent free means just that - no added perfumes or fragrances and although the box is labeled as no "added dyes or perfumes" it is simply not true. It is false advertising and harmful. I get major skin irritation and allergic reaction to anything with fragrance. So I have to be careful what I wash my clothes with and what dryer sheets I use. This wasn't my normal brand - but I needed sheets and my usual brand was sold out. So I gave it a try. Over the course of a few days - I started to get skin itchiness and irritation..couldn't figure out why! Went a took a wiff of the dryer sheets and low and behold - perfume!! Yes - I should have taken a wiff when I opened the box - and I didn't. Why? because I trust that when a company such as the ones who produce Bounce say that it is "perfume free" - they are telling the truth it. So yes - my own fault. Lesson learned!
:P
So - there are you folks. If you like perfumed bounce sheets and don't care...go ahead and buy these - but note you are paying for false advertising. If you depend on the statement "Perfume & Dye free" to be the truth...DON'T buy theses - as you could end up harming yourself or loved one.

Switched to Bounce Free last year when daughter (who is allergic to all fragrance) and family came for extended visit. She is soooo sensitive and there were no coughing or sneezing even with bedding.

After own bad year of asthma I really am glad I use this for clothes, towels and linen. No problems related to use of Bounce Free.

Highly recommend for asthma/allergy suffers!

My son is allergic to just about everything - especially scented products. We still use Dreft laundry detergent on all our clothes. I make sure we have at least one box of Bounce Free & Sensitive fabric softener sheets at all times. I cut each sheet in half (tip from my Mom) & they still make the clothing soft enough.

One or two of the other reviewers said these still have a scent. I did notice that the boxes in one shipment we received had a scent. I think it was because the boxes were stored near scented fabric sheets. I just left it out to air out, & it did nicely.

I give these to anyone who is going to be working near/with my son. With his "reactive airway syndrome" he starts having issues breathing when people are wearing clothes washed &/or dried with scented products.

Glad these are available on Amazon's subscription service, just like many other of the special products I buy for my highly allergic son.

Be well...

This product still has the same scent as regular dryer sheets. I had to throw it out as soon as I got home from the grocery store. When I complained to P&G, they said it must have been shipped with the regular scented product and the odor sometimes gets into the boxes and can also get into the "unscented" dryer sheets themselves...must be one strong product!!! I'm a bit skeptical about that explanation!
