A pleasant experience, September 9, 2005
This review is from: Bounce (Audio CD)
Tom Braxton's new album "Bounce" is smooth jazz at its best. Nice tunes, excellent sound, brilliant musicians. The humble Mr.Braxton does not overdo his own rôle (like Kenny G), you can hear and enjoy the other musicians all the time through this cd; not least producer, co-composer and fellow musician Wayman Tisdale, but also some very able other musicians not quite as well known to me.
My advice is: Buy it, put it on your player, and you will have a relaxing fifty minutes ahead of you.

Awesome talent, April 2, 2006
This review is from: Bounce (Audio CD)
I've had the musical pleasure of discovering Tom Braxton at the Texas Jazz Festival in Corpus Christi. If you have an opportunity to see Tom in person, go! You will not be disappointed. Until then ... buy the CD!

AWESOME SMOOTH JAZZ, January 18, 2006
This review is from: Bounce (Audio CD)
THIS CD IS BOTH A REFLECTIVE SMOOTH JAZZ DISC AS WELL AS AN UPTEMPO SAX DRIVEN DISC YOU WILL PLAY OVER AND OVER AGAIN AS EACH SONG NEATLY FLOWS INTO THE NEXT. WAYMAN TISDALE PLAYS BASS ON ALL SONGS AND PRODUCES THE ALBUM AS BRAXTON IS TISDALE'S REGULAR SAX GUY. AND THEY MESH AS WELL ON THIS DISC AS THEY HAVE ON THE LAST SEVERAL OF TISDALE'S. HIP CHURCH AND JULIAN'S SMILE ARE MY FAVORITE CUTS, BUT THERE'S NOT A BAD SONG ON THIS ALBUM.

Wonderful experience, December 9, 2005
This review is from: Bounce (Audio CD)
I had the opportunity to see Tom Braxton play for an extremely happy crowd at his almamader, Dunbar Middle School (then Dunbar High School). "Julian's Smile" and "Bounce" are superbly played, smoothe and fresh sound. See him live if you get the chance, buy the CD anyway!
