Book Description

Dr. Samantha Moore is one of the youngest and most acclaimed researchers in the world. Her specialty is blood and she has been recruited by the largest pharmaceutical company in Scotland. For what purpose she cannot begin to imagine, but in an attempt to break out of her painfully shy shell, she throws caution to the wind and leaves her family and best friend behind in Savannah.

Dr. Kade Gunnach is taking a chance hiring an outsider, but he’s desperate to find out how to help his sister. He believes the key lies in her blood, but so far, no one has found the answers. When the new researcher walks into his office, he’s unprepared for his reaction to her and the life-changing ramifications her arrival brings.

They’re drawn together by a force neither is prepared for, but Kade is holding something back. Something that could scare her away.

When Samantha learns his secret, will she run?

Will Kade be able to live with the answers he’s been desperately searching for?

4.0 out of 5 stars Kade and Sam... Bound! June 13, 2013
By Sadie
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I thought the concept behind the book was different from anything I've ever read. Tracy Jane did a great job in world building and creating a backstory that flowed throughout the present. I can't stand too many flashbacks, and luckily there wasn't much of that. I liked the mysterious affliction of Fiona, and the unknown story behind the "clan" existence. Were they vampires, werewolves, some sort of immortal?!?!?! Loved how it all played out. Sorry, no spoilers here.

Now on to that magnificent, sexy, sexy man: Kade! (Swoon) He is so hot, with just the right amount of Alpha that any woman would go all "gooey" for. I think the book cover art fits his and her description accurately. Kade is... wait, I said no spoilers, right? So, I'll just say this: Dr. Kade Gunnach is the boss of the largest pharmaceutical company in Scotland. (And yes, he has that yummy brogue accent, lass.) He hires the lovely, but ever so shy, American doctor, Samantha Moore, sight unseen, because she is the best in her field, even at the young age of 25. When he sees her, he knows she was destined to be his. (Sigh)

There is no cheating, no misunderstanding, no angst between the H and h, which can be quite refreshing. The struggles this couple faces is mainly with Sam coming to grips with her place in Kade's life, and then later with traitors within the company and within the clan. You will have to read to find out the specifics.

The bedroom scenes were the fade-to-black kind. Very clean. I guess that might be my only complaint. It would have been nice if there had been more descriptive love-making scenes. Just saying.

The story was well-written and I will definitely be reading the next in the series about the lovely Pepper. (Persephone, tee hee, so funny!) Even without the raunchy sex scenes, this book grabbed my attention, and I didn't put it down till it was finished.

Tracey Jane, all I can say is: GREAT JOB!

Samantha Moore has graduated at the top of her class and is a specialist in the field of blood. She has gotten the offer of her life to take a job with a prestigious firm in Scotland. This southern belle is going to get way more than a new career! Her world is about to become so very strange, different and exciting with unbelievable changes in this paranormal romance. I told Tracey Jane Jackson that I don't do ghosts, vampires, werewolves when she said she was changing her writing tract from her civil war time travel series to the paranormal. I wasn't sure when she asked me to read her new book if I was going to like it. I have to tell you this one was a great ride and I enjoyed her book immensely from the first few pages to the very last. This sceptic was won over with this book. I can't wait for the next to come out in the series! I guess there is more to the paranormal genre than I knew at least when it comes to this author. I've been won over the other side. ~ : )

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but needs a little more June 15, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I felt the story and idea were good. The characters great. But, I also felt the story was missing that little extra to make it fantastic. Sam is a hematologist, but we see very little of this. We have a new culture, but learn very little about it. The bad guys you don't really get much of anything about or why but taken care of in two seconds and one bad person makes no sense, let alone explained why. The last issue is with all that love and passion to get one geared up for hot steamy lov'in, ......nope all worked up then it's the next day "after they made love" I mean REALLY! If it wasn't for the characters, I probably wouldn't have finished, they make the story worth while even though all those hot Scottish/Viking men are wasted on a young adult story.

2.0 out of 5 stars The idea was great, writing fell short. June 26, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed the storyline and that was the only thing that kept me reading to the end of the book. The writing fell short, feeling "forced" on some of the dialogue and as though it were written by a high schooler. There wasn't enough description on settings and some of the characterization seemed rushed. It's a shame. The storyline had a lot of potential.

2.0 out of 5 stars Started out well June 26, 2013
By Maggie
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have to admit the beginning is pretty good. The characters were believable and I had no problems believing in the Cauld And. The last 20% to 25% was bad. Once they are bound she starts wanting to do his cooking, cleaning, and packing. What!?!??? It actually became unbelievable from that point on. Even the way they treat each other changes and becomes a little cliched. I probably will not read any more in the series.

2.0 out of 5 stars Immature June 26, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book in a word: immature. The characters, the story, the dialog, the drama, the foreshadowing... immature and undeveloped both come to mind before any superlatives.

Pages that should have been filled with a details on plot and character arcs instead gloss them over for reams of insipid nonsense better found in a middle-schooler's diary entry. Jackson seems more devoted to setting up the next love story in the series than developing any logical reason the drama this story exists.

This isn't so much romance as an overly voluminous narration of an HEA as envisioned and written by an 8th grader.

Combines action, romance, and Faith all in one series. Love it! I like that they hold to Christian principles thru these relationships. Tracey Jane Jackson combines it all really well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Series July 19, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I started out 2 days ago with the first book of the Cauld And series. The last review I did of a series, I have 4 stars after reading the first book, it deserved it, but the rest didn't come anywhere close. So, I made sure I read this entire series before I reviewed anything. Loved it, loved it, loved it! Each of the books are interesting in themselves, but when read in order, the small stuff, mentions of names or illusions to secrets in previous books become clearer. I liked all the continuous characters. It was extremely interesting watching their lives change over the course of the series. Even though you know how each story is going to end, happily EVER after, the characters have real personalities and even suffer through human illnesses, emotions and the women all manage to stay pretty strong and sassy throughout. You know that they won't let the guys get away with leaving "the little woman behind", without a fight. Most of the time the girls win too. This is a series that will certainly have at least another book or more, especially since a new important character is introduced about half way through this book. He still remains pretty mysterious. Usually in a book series there is at least 1 book that is not quite up to the standard of the rest. I really didn't find that here. Some may have been more interesting to me then others because of the subject matter, but these are high quality previous of fiction, and let's face it, would all of us really want to find their one true mate. I love the binding vows. I WISH I had known of them when I married the love of my life because they perfectly reflect my feelings. If you want to know what they are, you have to read the books!
