Addictive High Seas Romance!,

First let me say that I am a huge...huge...fan of Marsha Canham. She is consistently a 5 star author and I devoured all her romances (see my other reviews). This is my first e book of hers and I read it even though I had read the book as it has some dramatic differences from the hard copy. Canham is especially adept at crafting believable high seas romance and she describes with gripping reality anything that takes place aboard a ship, including sea battles as those that take place in Bound by the Heart. I think this is one of her best. It is non stop high seas action that sweeps you away from the first page.
Set in the Atlantic and the Caribbean during the time leading up to the War of 1812, it tells the story of Captain Morgan Wade, an American patriot and privateer with a past that includes the British Navy. He rescues Summer Cambridge, the 18 year old English daughter of the Governor of Barbados and her younger brother Michael from a shipwreck that left them, the only survivors, clinging to a raft. From the beginning, Morgan is attracted to Summer who he believes to be her brother's governess, a ruse invented by her brother. Despite Morgan's attraction to her, he does not have his way with her on the ship, but treats her and her brother well. Ah, but they are headed for his island, Bounty Key, where things will change. When Summer is later returned to her father, she marries the man her father promised her to, an English Navy commodore and a rival of Wade's. Her husband becomes cruel when he realizes his new bride has feelings for the privateer and, he suspects, more than that. This story is a great romance with history and life on the sea in the early 1800s wonderfully woven in. Canham does a masterful job of crafting rich characters...so much so I emailed her the suggestion that she write a sequel that is Michael's story! I highly recommend this ebook! And, if you like this one, you might read these additional ones by Canham:The Wind and the Sea, Across a Moonlit Sea (and it's sequel, The Iron Rose)--all are excellent!

Apolgies from the Author,

If you downloaded Bound by the Heart between May 25 and May 27 you may be missing chapter 28. I can't tell you how sorry I am for the omission, but it has been corrected and a new version is uploaded. My very humble apologies for any aggravation this might cause. I have visions of readers reaching the crucial point in the book and going WHAT? WHERE? HOW? then throwing it against the wall. Please don't throw it *s* Just download a new copy. And if there is any problem with a new download, please contact me directly. Thank you so much. This is like an author's worst nightmare. augh.

I am a huge fan of Marsha Canham's books and there were only 3 that I hadn't read: Chine Rose, Bound by the heart and The wind and the sea. Now I am happy that she released them on Kindle giving me the opportunity to read them! I've read Bound by the Heart and I fell in love with the book. It's really a good book and I assure you you can't put it down. The intrigue is well spinned and the characters well done.
At the moment I am reading China Rose and loving it and waiting for The wind and the sea. A must read book!

I was craving a pirate romance so I decided to check this book out. I had never read this author before. The beginning was good--- the author described the characters well and I was engaged. However the author sped up the pace of the story by ending a scene and then picking up like 2 weeks later which irritated me because I felt like I couldn't witness the connection and changing relatiionship of the hero and heroine. Also the obstacle to their relationship ( the other man) was not described to be that horrible. I could easily see him as a hero in another novel making it hard for me to despise him.
Overall this book has more discussion of pirates, land, and slaves than it has romance! Good for a library read.

I am a huge Marsha Canham fan! I have read everything I can find of hers. As usual "Bound By The Heart" did not disappoint me. Action from page one, a strong slightly arragent Hero, a tough strong willed women and great secondary characters that bring in humor. Great read.

I had never read a Marsha Canham book before I picked up this one on my Kindle. Wow! I had forgotten how good a wonderful shipboard romance with plenty of history, adventure and amazing battles could be. This book kept me up several nights in a row and it was worth all the missed sleep. Ms. Canham is now on my must read list. I'm looking forward to more great historical romances!

Fantastic book. I've never heard of Marsha Canham before, but I can tell you I won't forget her! The characters literally came to life, and I honestly couldn't put the book down. I can't wait to read her other books, but I must say, I'm going to miss Morgan & Summer.

I had never read a story by Marsha Canham, but I must say that I am impressed by her execution and by her character development.
I really liked this story, it is a long read, so don't expect to read it in one sitting. I could not put it down, though, which is great for me, as I am bed-ridden for a little while. I liked it that the heroine isn't a spineless white dove, and it seems to be a theme with Ms. Canham, which I appreciate very much. The hero was awesome, I learned to love him, and it stuck. I could almost feel the attraction between those two. I love his brother and her younger brother as well, they are the best side characters! Very believable story line, amazing fight scenes (very descriptive, they suck you in) and sizzling love scenes. This book is awesome. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

I enjoyed the book very much. The characters were fun and I grew attached to them. Kept you on your toes and it wound itself up fairly well. Wish there might have been a bit more to the end, but I always find myself wanting to know more after a good book ends. Captain Wade made for a very good swashbuckling hero. I also loved Thorny's language. You pick up on the pirate slang soon enough.
